Kobe Gave Mike Brown the Death Stare as the Lakers Lost to the Jazz
Utah 95, LA Lakers 86. The defeat dropped the loaded Lakers to 1-4, and the panic everyone joked about after the 0-3 start is no longer a laughing matter. With point guard Steve Nash out another month, the Lakers’ can expect more ugly offense:
11 assists vs. 18 turnovers.
His replacement, Steve Blake, who wasn’t the victim of trash talk on this night, played 36 minutes, shot 2-of-10 and had just one assist.
Nash was also expected to help improve LA’s 3-point shooting issues (32 percent last year, 26th in the NBA) but they were just 4-for-23 last night.
For now, all the problems will revolve around Mike Brown’s putrid Princeton offense, and Kobe’s apparent disgust with him. If you enjoyed angry Kobe in GIF form, perhaps you’ll like Kobe’s expressions as Randy Foye (17 points) went on a 3-point barrage in the 2nd half.

By December Mike Brown is fired, Phil Jackson is named coach and Lakers win the title. Then we get to hear how Phil is the greatest coach ever, even though he came into a great team

Still better than the Kurt Vonnegut death stair.

If LA goes into the playoffs as a 4 or 5 seed I will be pretty happy with the Nash trade.

Nash signed there as a Free Agent.

The problem with the Lakers is the bench more than anything. Despite Blake’s numbers being terrible, he had a positive +/- along with Kobe and Pau. Meanwhile, Hill (-9), Jamison (-13), and Morris (-14) have yet to turn in a positive +/- save for Morris’ (+1) in their 29-point win over Detroit.
Move Pau to the bench.

You’re not going to catch Michael, Kobe.

Kobe’s actually playing some of the smartest basketball he’s ever played, he seriously got to the line last night 17 times on pumpfakes and trickery. He’s getting guys wide open shots out of their supposedly awful offense. Pau has been a disaster at times, which makes no sense with the high low opportunities in their offense. Mike Brown has to stop going to the Pau and 4 subs lineup at the end of first quarters, their deficits balloon.
Also, I don’t remember Steve Blake being this bad. He had no business on the floor last night and Mo Williams annihilated him
