Diane Sawyer appeared to be a bit off on Election night, slurring a lot of words, rambling incoherently and … just take a look at the face of George Stephanopoulos through most of this. He’s clearly puzzled by whatever is going on.

I always get nervous when people post clips about people on TV or radio slurring words, appearing drunk, etc. This happened 10 years ago to our play-by-play radio guy; went on a morning sports talk radio show and sounded really out of it. Shortly after had a massive brain hemorrhage and died.

Indeed. I remember reading the message boards that morning with people opening speculating whether he was drunk. (Which made no sense, he was an upstanding guy and it was like 8:00 in the morning.)
Later that day word got out. Just devastating news. He was beyond beloved. I’m not sure I’ve ever been so affected by the death of someone I didn’t know.

This isn’t the first time she appeared to be drunk. It’s understandable that someone of her age might not be able to handle those long hours. ABC shouldn’t have put her in that situation, if that was the case.

My dad has Myasthenia gravis witch is a neuromuscular disorder that can affect speech, but doesn’t really show itself until he’s tired or has been in long conversations. I always talk with him early in the day b/c of it.
