Have not had many BC beers, really enjoyed Hop Head India Pale Ale which you can get at the LCBO.

Hop Head’s pretty good. I’d say Granville Island is the best of the local breweries (hardly a micro brew anymore) – great selection, and just came out with a great Winter Ale. There’s a bunch of good ones around here though.

Our long national nightmare is nearly over. Hang on for just a few more hours, and election season will come to a close.

At least until the 2016 campaign starts tomorrow …

I really don’t see Hillary running. Christie, on the other hand, I’d absolutely buy into. Come to think of it…

As a former journalist, I’d say there’s a 78 percent probability that 80 percent of journalists have drinking problems.

I think I’ve only seen two bands that I thought were truly dog shit live.

The worst live show I’ve ever seen was Zeppelin in 1977. Severe disappointment, but I think Page was stoned out of his gourd on heroin or something.

Second worst: the Stones in 1978 at the Super Dome. I blame that on the fact it was a quinessential bar band playing a stadium. Would have loved to see the Stones in an arena under 1,000 seats.

I think all these glowing reviews of Flight just show how many journalists have drinking problems.

they were influenced by “Gimmie Shelter” in the trailers.

“Flight” started out great and had amazing potential, but Zemeciks didn’t do anything great with the material, just kept it bland and had Denzel do all the work.

the last 20 or so minutes was poorly done, very uneven and extremely sappy/predictable at the end.
