Redman was getting 5 yards a carry, the OL was dominating. if you wanted to try and run the ball and rely on the D if you got stopped, then line up and run, since you’ve been winning those battles. they were controlling the game, you don’t need a spark from a trick play succeeding.

And Sean Payton was a genius because a 50-50 (at best, given the surprise nature) play call worked in the Superbowl. I agree with it being a bad call, from what I’ve heard (have watched 1.5 quarters of NFL football in two weeks), but it’s a dangerous road to go down judging a coach based on the results and not the decision process.
