Johnny Manziel Was Scooby Doo for Halloween, and These Blondes Seemed to Like It

Johnny Manziel, the most popular QB in the SEC – sorry, Heisman contender AJ McCarron – got dressed up as Scooby-Doo for Halloween and the costume was apparently a hit.
Manziel is having one of the best freshman seasons in SEC history – he accounted for 440 yards of offense Saturday in a beatdown of Mississippi State, including competing 83 percent of his passes – and his legend will grow if he’s somehow able to lead the Aggies to a win at Alabama Saturday.
In the unlikely scenario that Texas A&M beats the Tide – Manziel’s young team is a two-TD underdog – one has to assume Manziel has punched his ticket to New York for the Heisman ceremony. [Photos via Outkick the Coverage]

dude may not see his sophomore season if he continues to run the way he does, esp. against the tide

what?

Greatest screen pass in the history of safe plays!
November 5th, 2012 at 12:25 PM
I’d be tempted to take the over in this game.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:27 PM
I hope the Ags win.

His life must be really terrible campus.
Bama looked very beatable on Saturday. LSU also had about 6 or 7 future NFL players on that defense though.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:29 PM
it’s like I don’t even know you anymore.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:30 PM
link?
November 5th, 2012 at 12:31 PM
you read that correctly.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:31 PM
Hey, fuck Alabama. Plus it helps my narrative that A&M is more successful in the SEC than they were in the Big 12.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:32 PM
His funeral will be quite the party on Sunday.

Halloween is finally going to be over tonight in New Jersey…..just in time for people to put up Christmas decorations.
/Didn’t you say last week you were done with the Halloween costume posts?
November 5th, 2012 at 12:32 PM
Big Lead just blatantly stealing from OKTC now?
November 5th, 2012 at 12:32 PM
I think J-Mac meant he moves the needle, not the most popular at the middle school dance.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:33 PM
I contend that Rapelisberger Jr. is the most popular SEC QB among other teams’ fans.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:33 PM
the fact that everyone is saying this is baffling. LSU plays good at home, at night. sure, their D gave up yards to a pretty crappy offense, but they gave up 14 points. I think all the calls of the demise of Alabama are a little pre-mature.

SEC QB popularity ratings:
Manziel
McCarron
Bray
Driskel
Tyler Wilson
Aaron Murray
November 5th, 2012 at 12:35 PM
So does Yeldon remind anyone else of Adrian Peterson?
November 5th, 2012 at 12:35 PM
Speaking of Bray, he could’ve easily gone 700+ yards if 3 deep balls aren’t dropped and they get the D off the field and don’t allow 3400 yards to Troy
November 5th, 2012 at 12:36 PM
But the NFL doesn’t have a steroid problem oh nooooooooooooo.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:36 PM
Sure, as long as he’s taking Te’o's spot.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:37 PM
1. Mattenberger played the game of his life.
2. Bama had to play in arguably the worst enviroment in all of college football.
3. LSU has had 10 months to think about Bama beating the dog shit out of them in the national championship game. Those boys played out of their minds.
Beatable? Yes. Exposed? I would argue no. I know you didn’t say they were exposed, but I’ve heard a lot of people say it. Best opponent we’ve played all year.

SEC! SEC! SEC!

Not quite sure where you came up with those rankings, but I admit I love Manziel. He’s fun and exciting to watch.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:38 PM
just to clear things up, who exactly does this matter to? and what does it even mean?
November 5th, 2012 at 12:38 PM
I’m aware I read it correctly because I read it three times just to be sure. my question was directed at your sanity. dude, people forget that ATM is actually in the SEC.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:38 PM
Absolutely. I made the exact same comment after Yeldon’s game winning TD. His little cuts are phenomenal.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:38 PM
linked them twice is “blatantly stealing?”
Oh. Good to know.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:39 PM
nobody.
nothing.
I expect you to come back with the most popular cornerbacks in the Pac-12.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:42 PM
He is going to be something special. SEC freshmen running backs are scary good with Hill, Yeldon and the two Georgia backs.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:43 PM
Gotta come from Colorado and Utah.
/That’s the issue, right?
November 5th, 2012 at 12:45 PM
/throws away “Most popular strength and conditioning coaches in the Sun-Belt” list
November 5th, 2012 at 12:46 PM
I was furiously lolling when I saw this on Twitter Saturday night. Completed three passes against a prevent defense then dumped off for a screen. Heisman moment.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:50 PM
you read that correctly.
Yes you did.
My 12 yr old knows Johnny Football but has no idea who AJ McScreenpass is.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:50 PM
Bama’s defense is nothing compared to last year’s, it just wasnt noticeable because they played a cake schedule up until LSU. If any team in the SEC is going to put up points on them it’ll be A&M, but that’s still a frosh QB going on the road…I really want to see what Bama looks like against Oregon, you cant miss open field tackles against that team.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:57 PM
Bama also had way too many three and outs on offense and LSU was able to make some long drives. LSU outplayed Bama in this game and probably should have won. Oregon would definitely give Bama trouble but Saba would have a month to prepare and I can’t see Oregon being able to deal with Bama’s offensive line at all. They could keep Oregon offensive off of the field
November 5th, 2012 at 12:58 PM
And I mention three and outs because LSU had the ball for 40 minutes compared to Bama’s 20 minutes. Mettenberg played the game of his life. Bama isn’t unstoppable on defense but they are very good. Bend don’t break.
November 5th, 2012 at 1:31 PM
And that Texas is in The South.
November 5th, 2012 at 2:57 PM
I’m putting this in a lockbox and saving it for later.
November 5th, 2012 at 3:00 PM
A&M isn’t beating ‘Bama. I think the spread is fair at 14. I’d buy the hook to get it to 13.5 if betting ‘Bama.
They will do what LSU did and put Manziel in jail in the pocket, then dare the WRs to get open. Mike Evans is going to be really, really good, but he’s not there yet. Nwachuku is a dud. They won’t be able to run the ball effectively IMO.
I think it ends up being something like
Bama 31
A&M 17
