Ballin’: Jeff Teague Dunked on Kevin Durant and the Hawks Beat the Thunder
Oklahoma City 95, Atlanta 104: Without Josh Smith, the Hawks went on the road and stunned the Thunder in the 4th quarter thanks to late-game heroics from Lou Williams (14 of his 19 points in the final quarter). Westbrook and Durant were a combined 12-of-35 shooting, but Kevin Martin played the role of James Harden, scoring 28 points (6-of-8 three-pointers).
New York 100, Philadelphia 84: The Knicks are 2-0 and both victories have been surprisingly easy. After making 19 three-pointers in routing the Heat Friday, New York made 11 against the 76ers (1-1). JR Smith scored 20 points off the bench; Carmelo Anthony led the team with 27. Philly lost Jason Richardson to an ankle sprain less than two minutes into the game.
Minnesota 86, Toronto 105: Just be happy you got the Timberwolves without Love and Rubio. DeRozan and Lowry, a fun backcourt, split 44 points for the 1-2 Raptors.
Phoenix 94, Orlando 115: The Suns wasted a 10-point halftime lead, the Magic dominated the 2nd half (69-38), shot 9-of-11 on three-pointers and improved to 2-0 in the post-Dwight Howard era. In case you weren’t aware, here’s the Magic starting lineup with Jameer, Al Harrington and The Michael Jordan of Turkey, who are all injured: Afflalo and E’Twaun Moore in the backcourt; Big Baby Davis and undrafted DeQuan Jones at forward and Nikola Vucevic at center. Phoenix rookie point guard Kendall Marshall has played 1:23 in three games.
LA Lakers 108, Detroit 79: The first win of the Dwight Howard era came with potentially bad news – Steve Nash, who sat out his 2nd straight game, could be out for up to four weeks. Steve Blake didn’t cuss anyone out. Kobe had eight assists. Dwight Howard scored 28 points. The Pistons are 0-3.

Raptors might be ok if Lowry can average 23-7-7 over the full season.

“Raptors might be ok if Lowry can average 23-7-7 over the full season”
And if he doesn’t quit on his team/coach like he did in Houston.

I can’t see that happening here. He’s going to get his minutes and Casey loves the guy. However, if the Raps don’t offer a big dollar extension before the start of next year, I could see Lowry getting a little grumpy.

That Demar Derozan contract is just ridiculous. NBA is definitely having another lockout at end of current CBA.

He is not ready. Are you arguing he should be getting playing time over a capable backup right now?

Keep cashing the Buss paychecks Nash.

The Knicks defense is for real. 2-0 is legit. Woodson is running good offense between guard penetration and playing off of the attention Melo draws. He was able to figure out in less than a season something that Karl couldn’t figure out in years.

Totally agree. Paying a guy off for being a hard worker with mediocre skills is not a good business model.
