Sunday Night Football: Dallas Cowboys Look To Give Atlanta Their First Loss
Atlanta is the last remaining holdout, preventing Mercury Morris from celebrating. If they don’t lose soon, Morris is going to start getting air time, and then we all lose. The Dallas Cowboys have a history of knocking off undefeated teams. Three years ago it was New Orleans at 13-0.
All that is history, though, what does Dallas have to do to have a chance tonight?
1. Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers. Dallas can move it, but they have often shot themselves with turnovers this year. Atlanta has relied on turnovers on defense. Dallas will need to re-write that script to have any chance.
2. Strength on strength, corners on the Atlanta wide receivers. Julio Jones and Roddy White versus Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr. Those individual battles will decide whether the Cowboys have a chance or Atlanta rolls to 8-0. Dallas is among the top five teams in the league in limiting production to opposing wide receivers, but they haven’t played a receiving group like this. Should be great theatre.
3. Be Aggressive. I’m talking to you, Jason Garrett. We know that Mike Smith will make the aggressive call when necessary. We’ve often seen Garrett turtle up in the biggest moments. If it’s close, will Garrett pull a reverse and make the bold call to win?

The FalCONS are frauds. Can’t wait for the Lions to beat them.
/Throw to Dez
November 4th, 2012 at 8:35 PM
Lions are always frauds
November 4th, 2012 at 8:37 PM
Notre dame down to 4 in BCS standings.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:38 PM
Hillbilly is. Lions will beat the Packers in 2 weeks. But yeah, they are frauds. I hate watching the Lions and their retarded play calling. Beats watching the Bills though buddy.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:38 PM
WTF Romo.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:40 PM
Lions would be better with a better coach.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:41 PM
I agree, but would prefer a better GM.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:44 PM
Flipping between NFL and NatGeo’s Osama/SEALS movie. Kathleen Robertson can def get it.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:46 PM
Can’t wait for the Benghazi movie.
/will never happen
November 4th, 2012 at 8:46 PM
Julio jones…beast
November 4th, 2012 at 8:47 PM
Can’t wait for the Benghazi movie.
Fox news needs to give that shit up. Nobody cared/cares.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:48 PM
Yep, exactly same circumstances surrounding Benghazi and the killing of OsamaBL. My post had no political skew either way. Just an interested observer.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:50 PM
Flaccid, you new round these parts?
Also, Cowboys will win, said it Friday and still believe it. Falcons are the fraudiest team in the NFL.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:50 PM
Yep. Matt Bryant, fraud.
Regular season champs.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:51 PM
My post had no political skew either way.
Certain people are all about skewing politics around here. My desire and willingness to have a serious discussion about politics is extremely minimal, pretty much non-existent in fact. That and talking about religion. Not interested.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:52 PM
Politics and/or religion talk is the worst.
Nothing makes people get pissed off faster.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:54 PM
I dunno..blue balls pisses me ofd pretty quickly
November 4th, 2012 at 8:54 PM
Then you have the absolute worst talk, people who bring religion into politics.
Cant wait for the election to finally be over.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:54 PM
Cowboys winning makes atlanta fraudy?
November 4th, 2012 at 8:55 PM
people who bring religion into politics.
/Head explodes
November 4th, 2012 at 8:55 PM
No sir Rondoman. Just kind of tired/numb to the political back and forth in the roundup especially. Just wanting to say the brief snippet of Kathleen Robertson reminded me of how crazy hot she is since the 90210 to remade-Wizard of Oz series.
Maybe my head is wired wrong today, so no worries if I misinterpreted Vlad’s comment. Not looking for a fight at all.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:55 PM
Is dez bryant active tonight?
November 4th, 2012 at 8:55 PM
LOL at Atlantas secondary on that play.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:56 PM
I thought I read Dez was starting tonite.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:57 PM
Cowboys need Td’s not FG’s.
November 4th, 2012 at 8:57 PM
It will be awesome if Denver and Indy meet in the playoffs
November 4th, 2012 at 8:58 PM
I thought I read Dez was starting tonite.
Only if he wasn’t too busy slugging women. Daaaaamn I haven’t seen a woman get hit like that since the last time my wife tried to serve me cold spaghetti!
November 4th, 2012 at 9:00 PM
Don’t tell Queefer or Soused.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:00 PM
Reminds me of Dave Attells line:
The other night I had the lonely bug so I went to this bar. I saw this beautiful girl there. I’m thinking, “She’s alone, I’m alone. Why not annoy the shit out of her?” SO I walk over, I’m walking, I’m wearing clogs. And I notice she has a black eye, she has a shiner. I’m thinking, “Great. She doesn’t listen.” So two McNuggets, three beers, and 50 dollars later we’re back at my house doing it doggy style. Not that I planned on it, that’s just how she passed out. Thank you slow gas leak.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:01 PM
I believed in the falcons but i see that romo is in fine derp form too
/falcons m4.5
November 4th, 2012 at 9:02 PM
Reminds me of Dave Attells line
I think I saw that. That was funny as shit. I don’t condone it but goddammit a funny joke is a funny joke.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:03 PM
I guess. It would be nice for the media. It would be a blowout. Indy is really not that good. I think RG3 has been very good this year. But what Luck has done with Indy is truly remarkable.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:04 PM
So should Mike Shanahan be given a thumbs up for being truthful, or a thumbs down for pretty much telling his team they suck?
November 4th, 2012 at 9:07 PM
Redskins will never win shit with rat face. They should just get in on the bidding for Gruden/Payton next year.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:11 PM
He totally looks like a rat!!!
November 4th, 2012 at 9:12 PM
How do we know that payton is not just successful bc of brees?
November 4th, 2012 at 9:13 PM
Look at the Saints this year???
November 4th, 2012 at 9:13 PM
In the least, it’s been a collaborative effort between Payton, Brees and Loomis.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:15 PM
I highly recommend the movie Bellflower. Nasty bit of work with something for fans if hot rods, homemade weapons, violence, booze and tits
November 4th, 2012 at 9:17 PM
Rondo..the saints d blows
November 4th, 2012 at 9:18 PM
RB,
Not talking about their D. Their offense is definitely not the same this year as it has been with Payton. Reminds me when he hurt his leg and had to be up in the booth, they looked like they clearly were not the same as well.
I say yes, their D sucks horribly, but that offense is nothing special and it used to be one of the top units.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:19 PM
Nothing quite like losing to the Chiefs at home, when there offense did pretty much nothing the whole second half after being up 24-6.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:20 PM
Good job good effort, dallas
November 4th, 2012 at 9:21 PM
Idiot kicker. Does NBC usually play Losing My Religion during broadcasts?
November 4th, 2012 at 9:23 PM
We’ll never know until he doesnt have brees. Also i think one of the signs of a good leader is that he/she builds a foundation so things dont collapse if they leave
November 4th, 2012 at 9:25 PM
This doesnt make a lot of sense. When a team is good, the coach looks good, and they DONT leave, so we never know what the team looks like when they do until things start to fall apart and they get fired or resign. This is a unique situation.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:29 PM
NBC usually has a good mix of music for the sunday night broadcasts
November 4th, 2012 at 9:30 PM
Falcons dont wanna try a 55 yard FG?
November 4th, 2012 at 9:31 PM
This is a unique situation.
Which can be resolved by kicking that pay-for-devastation program back into high gear.
/Everybody step up and getcha slave wages
November 4th, 2012 at 9:32 PM
4th and 3 at the Cowboy 36 and the Falcons punt.
We need Lisk on this! You have to better options there, go for it, or kick a FG. Not punt.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:32 PM
*TWO
November 4th, 2012 at 9:33 PM
I’m glad ESPN MNF is just sticking with nothing but the Stones. I don’t wanna hear all that bs trendy current music.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:35 PM
Whoever does the music for SNF doesnt usually do much trendy new music (theyve already used REM and Papa Roach tonight)
November 4th, 2012 at 9:35 PM
go for it, or kick a FG. Not punt.
Their kicker did already miss one, though.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:36 PM
Pistons at Lakers. cmon detroit. Do something tonight
November 4th, 2012 at 9:37 PM
Hola, fellas.
I’m trying, really trying, to get into this game. Boring the hell outta me.
I wanna hear some .38 Special. Southern-fried rock-n-roll. Yee haw!
November 4th, 2012 at 9:38 PM
I’m trying, really trying, to get into this game. Boring the hell outta me.
Change game to job and I’m with you. I was somewhat busy yesterday till the last hour-hour and a half. I’ve hardly done shit today. Bout to go on break before I fall asleep in the chair.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:39 PM
Pistons at Lakers, might have to watch it a little bit with the free trial of NBA League Pass til Tuesday.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:39 PM
Short white wide receiver alert!
November 4th, 2012 at 9:39 PM
I just want the Pistons to play the young players and trade away the vets and excess baggage. Tank and get a lottery pick.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:40 PM
Hey meth, i actually worked last week. One four hour shift. First time i had hours since early august
November 4th, 2012 at 9:42 PM
Im a bit put off also that one coach’s
absence could weaken player performance.
Is this a cult? If hes an x and o genius why cant he share his knowledge?
November 4th, 2012 at 9:42 PM
Remember the days when every team had at least one, called “possession receiver”? Bring back Howard Twilley!
Ya know, Meth, lots of great inventions & concepts were developed by folk like you, bored in the present job but in possession of a dream. A dream that could change your life. Dare to dream, brotha! Or, get a snack. Whichever.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:43 PM
This game has been really boring. Switching to Pistons/Lakers for a bit.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:44 PM
Srod, hold on loosely, and dont let go
November 4th, 2012 at 9:44 PM
Horsehit. Now they review the spot? If Dallas would have just lined up and punted it never would have been looked at.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:45 PM
Vez, if you cling to tightly (to her), you’re gonna lose control
November 4th, 2012 at 9:46 PM
You gents talking about the .38 special song? That music video is amazing.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:48 PM
Vlad, you betcha. That one and “If I’d Been The One” are two of my favorites. Flames, horses, girls, guitars. That’s enough for me…
November 4th, 2012 at 9:51 PM
You guys see paganos speech? Gotta be a post
November 4th, 2012 at 9:52 PM
Hey meth, i actually worked last week. One four hour shift. First time i had hours since early august
First hours at all since then? That sucks. Money’s tight enough for me at this shithole of a workplace even with steady hours.
A dream that could change your life. Dare to dream, brotha!
Every time I dream of an invention I see an infomercial for it a week later. While someone else reaps the benefits of my thoughts I continue to sit here and deal with love-you-long-time-no-speakuh-anglais.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:52 PM
Good stuff. But he won’t ever be holding that Lombardi trophy again. Hope he does get to see his daughters get married and dance though.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:52 PM
+1.
Go Lions.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:54 PM
Vez, I saw it earlier. It was tough to watch. I’ve seen Pagano’s look on too many friends & family. I hate cancer.
It was cool hearing the “amens” in the background, though.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:55 PM
Saw 38 special open for reo speedwagon in early 80s
Say what you will about reo but before they sacrificed to the ballad monster they were a tight band. Their live album for from 78 is one of my faves
November 4th, 2012 at 9:56 PM
Lakers will be getting off the schnide tonight.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:57 PM
My father in law died today from lung cancer and its complications
November 4th, 2012 at 9:58 PM
Did that have “Ridin’ The Storm Out” on it? I seem to remember hearing some of their live stuff on the rock station back home. Gary Ridgerath was a pretty good guitarist.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:58 PM
They did some hiring for some other company here, and the new employees that come have to follow that client’s rule of “Hello.” If they do not acknowledge one of us if they walk by us, and we say something about it, they have to sing the company song and do a dance. My boss said she’d like the whole building to have to do that. All I want to know is WHAT the fuck makes her think they’re paying me enough to partake in that mickey-mouse shit. They can fire me if they want. Fuck them. I will gladly sleep in my truck from not being able to afford my rent.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:58 PM
Aw, Vez. Condolences, man. Sorry to hear that. Family holding up OK?
November 4th, 2012 at 10:02 PM
A friend of mine died two months ago.
He was 28 years old and battled leukemia 5 separate times. Beat it the first time, was in remission for 4.5 years, almost hitting the 5 year mark which they then say you are cured. Then he had it and beat it 3 more times. The fifth and final time he had it, nothing could beat it no more.
He had multiple bone marrow transplants. Had crazy chemo that would have killed most. He had a video on youtube that went viral a week before he died thanking everybody for supporting him in his 9 year fight.
It was really, really sad as he never got to live a life that we take for granted.

November 4th, 2012 at 10:15 PM
Wtf happend to turner? Fat?
November 4th, 2012 at 10:20 PM
Does anyone really fear the Falcons come playoff time?
November 4th, 2012 at 10:21 PM
These are the games they need to take over to London where boring ass field goal kicking fests will be appreciated.
November 4th, 2012 at 10:32 PM
Yep…fat
November 4th, 2012 at 10:47 PM
Not watching the game. But Carl is finally compelling. FUCK YEAH CARL!
November 4th, 2012 at 10:53 PM
Nobody wastes talent like the Cowboys.
November 4th, 2012 at 10:54 PM

November 4th, 2012 at 11:01 PM

November 4th, 2012 at 11:02 PM
Cris Collinsworth is such a smarmy fuck.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:13 PM
Fell into the youtube wormhole of surprise homecomings of soldiers and their families.
/misty
November 4th, 2012 at 11:17 PM
Cowboys just cant get out of their own way.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:18 PM
what song was played while they cut to commercial after turner scored his td in the beginning of the 4q?
November 4th, 2012 at 11:19 PM
Collinsworth said theyd get the ball back with over a minute left. Maybe 15 seconds actually.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:21 PM
Collinsworth
Buddy of my stepdad’s kind of looked and sounded like him. Fucking drove me nuts.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:22 PM
He sounds too nasally.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:26 PM
Good job Dallas. You had Atlanta miss 2 FGs, had plenty of chances to stop them at the end, and had Garret go super conservative until they needed to score quick. Played with no urgency at all for a must win game.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:30 PM
Honestly, after this game, I was wrong. Atlanta was better than I thought and by that I mean they didnt have their A game tonite, on the big stage of SNF, and they pulled out a win. Thats a team that might be ready to take the next step. The old Falcons probably lose this game.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:41 PM
Rondo that’s why i bet big (for me) on birds tonight. Last weeks win gave me the sane thoughts this game gave you. Not same old falcons but yeah you cant discount bad cowboys execution tonight either. Tackling especially and that last three plays? Yikes
November 5th, 2012 at 12:27 AM
All I gotta say is. Homeland, holy shit.
November 5th, 2012 at 7:39 AM
