NFL Sunday: Colts and Dolphins, Seahawks and Vikings Are Involved in Important Games, Who Would Have Thought?
Today’s schedule features two games that feature head to head opponents likely to be fighting for the final wild card playoff spot in their respective conferences. In the AFC, it is two rookie quarterbacks squaring off, as Indianapolis (4-3) hosts Miami (4-3).
Ryan Tannehill is active, though if he is affected by the knee injury, could be replaced. The Colts will rely heavily on Luck to get them to an improbable 5 wins at the halfway point, as the Dolphins are stout against the run, but can be vulnerable to the pass if Indianapolis can block Cameron Wake.
Meanwhile, the late afternoon games feature Seattle hosting Minnesota. Minnesota currently has the one game advantage, but also has a brutal schedule after this one, so it is a must win. If Seattle can win, they have the tiebreaker over Minnesota and other competitors like Green Bay and Dallas. The recipe for both teams will be the same–don’t put it on the quarterback and rely on defense and the star running backs.
Other games:
Denver at Cincinnati: The Bengals have had a week off to get ready for Peyton Manning. It probably won’t matter. Cincinnati will need to get big plays out of A.J. Green to keep up.
Carolina at Washington: The future of our country is in the balance. One quarterback loses games while putting up great stats and gets praised. The other is Cam Newton.
Arizona at Green Bay: Arizona doesn’t observe daylight savings, right? They should be okay then with the time zone shift.
Baltimore at Cleveland: Cleveland is on a roll, and this one is likely going to feature some running back explosions, as Richardson will have opportunities against the Ravens, and Rice should have a big game.
Buffalo at Houston: Oh, boy, Houston gets to face off against Mario Williams in what looks like a mismatch. Ryan Fitzpatrick will get swallowed by J.J. Watt.
Detroit at Jacksonville: Detroit has won two straight swing games, and should win today if they can avoid the let down.
Chicago at Tennessee: Chris Johnson has rebounded against easy rush defenses, but today we find out if he has changed, against a more challenging front. Hasselbeck will need all the help he can get.
Late Games:
Tampa Bay at Oakland: Bucs look to build off their success in Minnesota, while the Raiders can get to 4-4 with a home win. It will likely come through the air, as the Buccaneers defense has been tough and McFadden has struggled to get any running game going.
Pittsburgh at NY Giants: Best for last, this one should be a fantastic test. Who has the ball last? Could decide it.

Nice for the Dolphins to be relevant. At least for a second.
November 4th, 2012 at 12:54 PM
Arizona is going to get slaughtered. If i wasn’t morally against betting in games involvig my team, I would bet the house on GB covering.
November 4th, 2012 at 12:54 PM
picks:
Bengals +3.5
Seattle -4
Indy +1.5
Dallas +4
Pitt +3
Philly +2.5
Carolina +3
Cleveland +3.5

C’mon Hillbilly!
November 4th, 2012 at 12:56 PM
I’m a noob on spreads so indulge me. When a team is +3, are they favored or dogs by 3?
November 4th, 2012 at 1:02 PM
Come on HTown! We’re gonna win this game! Lets go MIA!
/that’s a lot of !!!
November 4th, 2012 at 1:03 PM
Like the double digits dogs today, BUF and ARZ, Take them in a parlay. Also like SEA -4
November 4th, 2012 at 1:03 PM
Dogs.
November 4th, 2012 at 1:05 PM
So if they keep it within 3 they cover. And if they’re -3 they hav to win by more than 3 to cover?
November 4th, 2012 at 1:05 PM
so…i wonder what else is on this afternoon…I dont really want to see the Bills get demolished

packers-cardinals is what fox gives us here in upstate NY at 1PM? booooooorrrrrrring
November 4th, 2012 at 1:08 PM

November 4th, 2012 at 1:10 PM
mason crosby wide left. good job good effort
November 4th, 2012 at 1:10 PM
Bears offense is a shitshow in the 1q
November 4th, 2012 at 1:11 PM
Yep, and if they win by 3 exactly then the bet is a push.
November 4th, 2012 at 1:13 PM
bills offense – naptime
November 4th, 2012 at 1:14 PM
Yes smallie. So if a 3pt favorite wins by 3 it is called a push. You lose the 10% tax only. Over/under bets are picking the total points scored. A 46 o/u means you pick whether the teams score more or less combined. A .5 in either the spread or o/u can be important
November 4th, 2012 at 1:15 PM
Thanks chicago.
November 4th, 2012 at 1:15 PM
Fitpatrick overthrows a wide open receiver? Shocking….
November 4th, 2012 at 1:16 PM
and on 3rd and 11, the bills do a 2 yard screen pass. the playcalls are mindboggling
November 4th, 2012 at 1:20 PM
It’s still scoreless in green bay, but is smallie bigs drunk enough yet to be numb to whatever the packers do to Arizona today?
November 4th, 2012 at 1:20 PM
I absolutely love the Redskins uniforms today.
November 4th, 2012 at 1:22 PM
only way the bills can get a good play on defense is when Houston gets an offensive holding penalty on the blitz
November 4th, 2012 at 1:23 PM
AP I know how terrible the Cards are so I am fully prepared for them to get slaughtered. Having said that, I’m running on about2 hours of sleep, and am on my 2nd beer. I don’t expect the sobriety to last past the 1st half.
November 4th, 2012 at 1:33 PM
I presume Jimmy Haslam is speaking to Sean Payton’s agent as we speak.

November 4th, 2012 at 2:17 PM
Holy crap! Thank god the Bears defense decided to go insane the weekend Brady has the bye. I’m going to need these points.
November 4th, 2012 at 2:19 PM
man fuck leshoure. what an asshole
November 4th, 2012 at 2:20 PM
Jaguars suck. Should be 35-0, but hillbillys been inaccurate.
November 4th, 2012 at 2:20 PM
I’m quite certain that’s the Browns first effective use of the 2-minute drill since Lindy Infante was calling plays.
November 4th, 2012 at 2:24 PM
GB has been playing down to its opponents this year. Didn’t cover against Jax last week.
November 4th, 2012 at 2:27 PM
GB is now up 2 TDs, and getting the ball back to start the 3rd, against a defense who can’t make a stop because they’re on the field the entire game. Game Over.
November 4th, 2012 at 2:29 PM
Texans do realize they’re playing one of the worst defenses in the league, right? Surely they’ll work on that in the second half.
November 4th, 2012 at 2:31 PM
Love inflatable headset
November 4th, 2012 at 2:31 PM
Cutler lucky his arm isnt broken
November 4th, 2012 at 2:32 PM
Bills need a head coach with the balls to go for it 4th and 1 near the goal line. Pathetic.
November 4th, 2012 at 2:33 PM
Texans offense is not high powered ms…not with schaub…but against buffalo yes they should be hammering bills
November 4th, 2012 at 2:34 PM
7-6? Pathetic
November 4th, 2012 at 2:38 PM
I did play cobb smallie
November 4th, 2012 at 2:39 PM
Bills have 2 good RBs and solid WRs/TEs yet they dont take a shot at the end zone…its just frustrating every week
November 4th, 2012 at 2:41 PM
Have to listen to the IND home radio, outside raking leaves, these guys are fockin homers. The game’s 17-13 T half, IND just make a FG and the announcer says “that’s good for the colts confidence and keep the crowd in the game? WTF? This game will be decided in the 4th qtr regardless if the kicker makes that or not. No one’s running away from anyone in this game
November 4th, 2012 at 2:41 PM
Question for Lisk: how much does drafting a “bust” QB with a top 5 pick delay a rebuilding effort?
November 4th, 2012 at 2:48 PM
Or really any top 5 pick that turns out to be a bust.
November 4th, 2012 at 2:50 PM
Bills DB wasnt even looking for the ball and it dropped in right over his head into Johnson’s arms. Aaron Williams is terrible. A university of texas bust!
November 4th, 2012 at 2:54 PM
Texans score…this game is over. Bills arent overcoming a 14-6 lead. Not with this coaching staff and defense
November 4th, 2012 at 2:55 PM
Jesus Zombie Christ, A.P., always thought you were getting into hyperventing hyperbole with your rants against the Bills offense, but you were right on the mark all along.
November 4th, 2012 at 2:57 PM
When Payton takes over as Cowboys coach next season, how many teams will be lining up to claim Garrett?
If Garrett ends up going to the Browns, there may be mass suicide in NE Ohio.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:00 PM
A pass over 20 yards to the TE? HOORAY
November 4th, 2012 at 3:01 PM
Yeah, what we need after a 24 yard gain is the wildcat….
November 4th, 2012 at 3:03 PM
A.P., serious question: how would you feel about Less Miles coaching the Bills?
November 4th, 2012 at 3:04 PM
If he was the defensive coordinator, sure. If he was the head coach, id rather wash my balls with a brillo pad.

November 4th, 2012 at 3:07 PM
Mike Schopp, buffalo radio host on twitter: “There is no question about what the Bills’ biggest problem on offense is. It is the inability/unwillingness to throw it more than 15 yards.”
November 4th, 2012 at 3:09 PM
Titus Young sucks dick.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:15 PM
I wonder if Mario Williams’s heart is filled with bitter, bitter regret?
November 4th, 2012 at 3:19 PM
Denver/Cincy has been fun. Really enjoyed AJ Green vs. Champ Bailey. If Dalton can overcome his Sanchez tendencies (turtling up in the face of a pass rush) he can be good enough.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:20 PM
What a TD by Fitzy. man among men on that team of misfits.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:20 PM
Man, the Skins’ unis look awesome with those helmets today.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:26 PM
Know what’s great about TBL this weekend?
NO FUCKIN POLITICS!
All football!
November 4th, 2012 at 3:27 PM
Nada, houston wasnt bringing Mario back so i dont think he has any regret. They didnt want him
November 4th, 2012 at 3:29 PM
Peyton making it look way too easy against a good D
November 4th, 2012 at 3:30 PM
Every single time I look at Ravens/Browns, Cleveland has the ball. 5 three-and-outs for Mr. Elite in the 2nd half.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:30 PM
Packers are so overrated. Letting the Cards back in the game at Lambeau.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:31 PM
So I guess Romney is President elect come Wednesday morning because Carolina is beating Washington.

Thanks for jinxing it.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:40 PM
Horrible roughing the passer call.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:41 PM
The Cardinals were never really going to get back in this game. they were just fucking with all of us.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:42 PM
Anyone else excited about the Seal Team 6 special on NatGeo tonight?
November 4th, 2012 at 3:44 PM
Anyone else excited about the Seal Team 6 special on NatGeo tonight?
I’m excited for these fat stacks I’m fixing to collect tonight.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:46 PM
Who did you play on your cards?
November 4th, 2012 at 3:51 PM
I’ve got broncos, lions, bears and texans on one. Redskins are going to screw me out of 3 of my cards, but the rest are still on track, the couple of those teaser cards with the really favorable spreads that I did.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:52 PM
Fuck the Bills.
November 4th, 2012 at 3:52 PM
I’m excited about Walking Dead getting away from that damn town and back to the prison. (I already know what’s gonna happen down the line due to the comix, but that town is turning into Herschel’s farm real fast in turns of dullsville.)

Chan Gailey is clueless. GM Buddy Nix is clueless, having stated that Gailey will remain coach all season. Ok Buddy, hope you’re happy with bad playcalling, misuse of the weapons available, weak/sloppy defense, and no sense of urgency week after week. Gailey said his goal is to get Spiller/Jackson 35-40 touches a game. Today? less than 25 touches for the BEST TWO OFFENSIVE WEAPONS ON THE FREAKING TEAM. Also, Nix should be fired for the Fitzpatrick contract extension. Ridiculous. A QB who can’t throw deep, makes crucial turnovers, and misses wide open targets. Pathetic. Chan Gailey is 13-27 as Bills head coach. Dick Jauron had a better record through 40 games. DICK JAURON!
November 4th, 2012 at 4:01 PM
It’s just a shame that the Bills have an owner in his mid-90s that has no clue what is going on with the team. The Bills would be a lot better with a guy like Andy Dalton at QB. I’m not even asking for a lot. Just for someone like Andy Dalton!
November 4th, 2012 at 4:04 PM
Bills have 4th best rushing game in the NFL, CJ Spiller AVERAGES over 7 yards a carry. Spiller and Jackson each have 6 carries on the day for a combined total of 60 yards. Seriously, one of the most unintelligent coaching staffs I’ve ever seen in professional sports.
November 4th, 2012 at 4:05 PM
speaking of stupid coaches, when the Browns TD was nullified due to an illegal formation penalty, Shurmur/Childress called a run play into the middle of the line, settling for a field goal instead of trying for the end zone again. Just clueless coaching
November 4th, 2012 at 4:07 PM
Just looking at some of the good performances today by QBs. It’s frustrating when the Bills seem incapable of evaluating personnel for drafts.
November 4th, 2012 at 4:09 PM
Buddy Nix also said that firing Gailey and hiring a new head coach would be rebuilding and he doesn’t think they are that kind of team. Seriously? CLUELESS. Bad management usually results in bad product
November 4th, 2012 at 4:09 PM
That Peterson run was 23904830943 kinds of awesome.
November 4th, 2012 at 4:10 PM
It’s frustrating when the Bills seem incapable of evaluating personnel for drafts.
Sounded like media and Bills fans couldn’t get off Fitzpatrick’s nuts last year when they had that streak going at the beginning of the season.

@JaySkurski: “If I’m not mistaken the #Bills failed to run a play that even had any of their intended receivers in the end zone”
November 4th, 2012 at 4:12 PM
Ryan Tannehill > Ryan Fitzpatrick
November 4th, 2012 at 4:16 PM
oh man, dolphins got 14 on 4th and 15..and a holding penalty. ouch. At least the game was competitive. Dolphins and Colts both have very bright futures.
November 4th, 2012 at 4:18 PM
more infuriating Bills stats that reflect on the poor coaching:
@salmaiorana – “C.J. Spiller, who averages 7 yards per carry coming in, has 9 touches all day. 6 rushes, 3 receptions. Can’t make this stuff up people”
November 4th, 2012 at 4:19 PM
Sean Smith for the Phins sucks left hind teat. Should be cut on Monday. His play was atrocious today.
November 4th, 2012 at 4:21 PM
I hope the Patriots beat the Bills next week by 30 points.
November 4th, 2012 at 4:21 PM
eh, whatever. try living in what is determined to be a swing state. Between the commercials and the phone calls, it’s all football and politics.
November 4th, 2012 at 4:40 PM
Smallie i just started reading a book by one of the SEals on the bin laden mission
November 4th, 2012 at 4:59 PM
good news: my opponent scored 30 points under his projected total today
bad news: i scored 18 less than projected in the early games, am still 53 points down and still not going to win.
darren mcfadden is a sack of crap
