Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: One Last Roll With Michael Vick, Dwayne Allen With an Opportunity
Michael Vick was rumored to be out in Philadelphia. On Wednesday, he was confirmed as a starter. This is likely a make or break week for fantasy owners, though, as he is going against the Saints, who are last in points allowed to quarterbacks. If Vick cannot put up top level numbers here, it is time to look elsewhere before the Eagles do.
At running back, Pierre Thomas moves up the charts in New Orleans and becomes a RB2 option with Darren Sproles injury, though I would expect some of Sproles role to be filled by targets to Graham, Colston and Moore as well. Chris Johnson has taken advantage of very favorable matchups in recent weeks, and I’ve had him ranked much higher, but this week, the Bears come to town and are among the best at limiting the opposition. Further down in desperation mode, Joique Bell is a good flex option, and Justin Forsett presents an opportunity. I’m rolling with Forsett in a league, because Ben Tate should be out for today, and you have the combination of the best rushing attack and one of the worst defenses. Forsett should get some touches to spell Arian Foster.
At wide receiver, there is a fairly large group of about twenty guys between positions 6-25 in roughly the same tier. I’ve got Steve Smith and Andre Johnson rated highly because of matchup, so the veterans need to break out with this opportunity. Plenty of injuries to keep an eye on here as well that affect the rankings, from Calvin to Dez to Jordy. If you are looking for deeper sleepers, Louis Murphy will move into the #2 role for Carolina as it looks like LaFell is still out with the concussion. Great matchup against Washington.
Your tight end sleeper play is Dwayne Allen, now that Coby Fleener is out. If 80% of the production from Allen and Fleener goes to Allen this game, that puts him easily in the same range as guys like Celek and Pettigrew for the year.

Jonathan Stewart vs Miles Austin…
I’ve had Austin in my lineup all week, and Jonathan Stewart had two TDs in my dreams last night (/no Coop).
I’ll take suggestions off the air while getting some breakfast.

Austin with dez hurt

Definitely Austin. I don’t think Garret can help himself from calling 50 passing plays. Junk stats count.

Need 1 WR and 1 Flex out of this group: Cobb, Austin, Maclin, Bradshaw, R Jennings
November 4th, 2012 at 11:27 AM
Jennings for sure. He’s 80% of the Jags’ offense right now. And I’d give a slight lean to Austin over Cobb, based on my assumption that Dez Bryant won’t be playing.

Dez is killing me – the 8:20 start makes this call 10X harder than it has to be. Hartline (also hurt), Kendall Wright (vs Bears) and Andre Roberts (vs GB) on my bench. Anyone feel strongly one way or the other?

Reluctantly Roberts there, Hartline who knows how he will play, and Bears matchup is worse.

Thanks Jason – that’s how I’m leaning too. Just don’t see Wright making the inevitable leap against a good Beard D. And who knows which Cowboys team shows up tonight

Beard D would be interesting
