If you have a shot to get down to a one score game, you take it especially when factoring in the distance. Of course scoring two touchdowns is the most direct path to a victory, but prolonging the game has value (more credit than I think you’re giving it here) and it’s not a “cut and dry” these are what the statistics say, let’s follow them.

I still can’t believe in a league with Norv Turner, Jason Garrett, Ron Rivera, Marvin Lewis, Romeo Crennel and Pat Schumer employed, no owner has thrown gobs of money at Bill Cowher yet. Not saying he is the 2nd coming of Lombardi but he is still a rich mans Jeff Fisher.

I suspect some owner has already tried (how else can you explain Ron Rivera’s current employment?) to, but Cowher probably turned it down.

I’m guessing Cowher and Gruden are simply waiting for the right situation to open up.
