Heisman 2012 Power Rankings: Week Nine
Collin Klein [Kansas State] The Wildcats were not impressed by Tommy Tuberville’s resume against top five teams. Klein completed 73 percent of his passes and posted 316 total yards and four touchdowns as Kansas State put up 55 for the second consecutive week.
Manti Te’o [Notre Dame] He had a huge game, in a major upset that leaves Notre Dame a win at USC away from an undefeated season. He has the compelling narrative and the fact he plays for Notre Dame working for him. Barring disaster he should reach the podium.
A.J. McCarron [Alabama] McCarron had another efficient performance (16/23, 208 yards, 2 TD) against Mississippi State. He still has not thrown an interception this season. He has not had much pub, but could emerge as default should other candidates falter.
Kenjon Barner [Oregon] Barner touched the ball 11 times against Colorado, producing 157 total yards and two touchdowns. Needs to do it in Oregon’s upcoming big games to move up.
Geno Smith [West Virginia] West Virginia hopefully regrouped over the bye week. Smith needs to start winning and will need a huge performance vs. Oklahoma on Nov. 17 to get back in the mix.

All we’re saying is is that their schedule has been a tad weak thus far so it’s not super easy to judge how they would fair in the title game even though they will definitely rightly be favorites – most likely by a hot bit – against whomever it is they play.

Had the Patriots been double digit underdogs and nearly doubled the spread in their favor, yes, that would be a huge upset.

I think it was definitely an upset but whether any game involving two top ten teams can be a “major” one would be debatable I suppose.

I’m taking that back Mole… I still don’t think it’s a huge upset, because it was a matchup of two top ten teams. But according to Vegas is was pretty big.
That said, if anyone considers it a huge upset, they were buying into a ridiculous line, and Oklahoma in a big game. Good luck with that.

Not saying that, I definitely wouldn’t bet them giving 17.5 to Pitt as they almost lost to fucking Purdue at home and were losing at half at home to the Fighting Mormons. However, they SHOULD win out

Agreed. If the game was at Heinz, I’d jump on any spread over 7. In South Bend, I’d hesitate. I have bad memories of Justin Tuck running a train up and down the Pitt OL in South Bend years ago.

I would like to clarify: I don’t hate Notre Dame itself. I do, however, hate Intern Killer Kelly and his Golden Dome enablers with every fiber of my being.
That said, I have to admit the Irish have played one of the toughest, if not the toughest, schedule in CFB this season.
And that said, I am rooting for Pitt, Wake Forest and BC the next three weeks.
If that fails, Bama will skullfuck that fucking ferret-faced leper-chaun in the NC game.

True, but I still think Oregon or K State get there before they do. They still have to play USC in the Collisseum which is no gimme no matter how shitty Kiffin is as a coach.
