World Series Game 4: The Tigers Are About to Get Swept
The Detroit Tigers have not held a lead in one single inning of the 2012 World Series, which is part of the reason no one is watching and no one cares.
Sweeps always tend to be a bit anticlimactic, but this series would certainly have a different feel had each of the first three games been a competitive back and forth battle, with the Giants coming out on top. That’s obviously not the case here. Two shutouts in a row? The Detroit bats have been more lifeless than John Clayton’s sex life.
To save the day for the Tigers will be starter Max Schuerzer. While he’s pitched well in the postseason thus far — 11 IP, 1 ER, 3 BB, 18 K — I’m not sure these are the shoulders Tiger fans want to rest the season’s hopes on. Matt Cain will be on the mound for San Francisco, and he’s given up three earned runs in three of four October starts, so there is that. But as soon as the Giants take the lead in this one, it’s already going to feel hopeless, regardless of the inning.
On that note, enjoy the football game!

God dammit Dez. Tigers probably win tonight then Verlander loses Game 5.
October 28th, 2012 at 8:21 PM
haven’t watched a single pitch. Won’t be watching tonight. If the worlde series is played and no one watches, does the world series still count?
October 28th, 2012 at 8:41 PM
Smallie, do you like any sports other than football or do you just constantly shit on baseball despite not watching?
October 28th, 2012 at 9:04 PM
AP, basebal just hasn’t held my interest for a long time. I go to games occassionally, but watching on TV doesn’t hold my attention in any way. Football is my primary sport. I like basketball, but am one of the few who prefer NBA to NCAA. I also play and watch golf a good bit, and I enjoy track and field.

I prefer NBA to NCAA, though if I’d have gone to college and had ties to a school I imagine that might be a bit different.
October 28th, 2012 at 9:13 PM
That’s a big part of it for me. I went to a small college, so never got big into NCAA basketball. I was a big Suns fan growing up in PHX so I stuck wit them. that’s another reason i don’t get into baseball. No team in AZ when I was growing up, and never latched onto one when I moved to PA.
October 28th, 2012 at 9:14 PM
What school did you say you went to? I forget.
October 28th, 2012 at 9:15 PM
Dickinso College. Small school in Central PA. Better known for the law school they sold to Penn State that still carries Dickinson name, but is the Penn State school of law.
October 28th, 2012 at 9:18 PM
Never even heard of it. I’ve heard of the Dickinson plantation ’round these pawts.

October 28th, 2012 at 9:22 PM
I think his law degree only though. I only did undergrad. Law School was sold to Penn State my senior year in HS, so no affiliation between undergrad and law school.

See comment #14. It’s funny. They’re closing this place tomorrow and Tuesday because of that storm. Everyone was so happy they didn’t have to drive here. But then they found out they didn’t get paid either…..Those are my regular days off anyways, so I don’t miss shit.
October 28th, 2012 at 10:13 PM
People thought they’d get paid? Morons.
October 28th, 2012 at 10:17 PM
Well some places actually pay you if you’re scheduled to work but can’t because of stuff like this-or electricity goes out, etc. and what not. This place, however, is not one of them.

Denver looks so good tonight.

Denver looks so good tonight.
I need them to not win by more than 17. Looks like it’s going to happen, though.

I enjoyed watching competent football teams today instead of a bills debacle. Next two games for Buffalo? At Houston, at New England.

the bills blue unis are in the top three in the league, so that’s sumpin
October 28th, 2012 at 10:59 PM
This is how pathetic fitzpatrick is as QB: out of the 33 QBs who qualify for stat rankings this year, Fitz ranks 31st in average distance of all pass attempts (completions, incompetions, interceptions) at around 7.1 yards per throw. Absolute garbage to have a QB who can’t throw it deep. When he tries, he misses wide open receivers. So…chan gailey resorts to this BS short pass/screen game. Teams sniff it out a mile away
October 28th, 2012 at 11:01 PM
Yea Vez I’d say you’re safe on the -6 for Denver. Just out of curiosity, whats #pettycowards mean? I remember you saying your names usually have some sort of play on words or however you put it. Figured you’d have went from walkingunderwear to runningbecausethereisshitinunderwear.
October 28th, 2012 at 11:01 PM
If it werent for the saints D, bills would have the worst D in th league. Bills have two really great RBs, decent wide receivers, and a good tight end. A guy like andrew luck or RGIII would do great things with the bills offensive weapons
October 28th, 2012 at 11:02 PM

Whose the last 2? Tebow? Cassel?
October 28th, 2012 at 11:06 PM
long story meth. if you really want to know i’ll e-mail you the tale, but i’d need an adress. it involves some commenters that frequent TBL or used to and some really surprisingly childish shit they pulled which i would not have taken exception to if it wasn’t so shockingly grade-school bullying and sheepish in two senses of the word. i’ll hang it up soon, once baseball is over. need a football only name
October 28th, 2012 at 11:06 PM
Tebow doesnt qualify. Its all the starting QBs plus Hasselbeck. Thats the 33.

well, i’ve been saying all year: beat somebody good. they sstruggled with jax for a half, but then hit turbo. thought it might be that way this game, but nope
no confidence in bears vs. niners, seattle, packers, pats, texans, giants. they will play some of them coming up
October 28th, 2012 at 11:19 PM
i’ll get it to you next day or so, meth
No rush I hardly ever use the internet at home anyways and I’m off tomorrow and tuesday.
October 28th, 2012 at 11:20 PM
chicago can be explosive, i only wonder what they could do with an offensive line that could block for the longer plays
October 28th, 2012 at 11:50 PM
And the Giants are your World Champs.
October 28th, 2012 at 11:51 PM
Sure they can kaiser but shitshows Like today can also happen. Panthers rush looked like allpros today. Biggest crime in sports ofthe past 5 yeagotrs is not giving cutler better protection or targets. Finally got the targets tho

Nice job striking out looking, Miggy
October 28th, 2012 at 11:53 PM
Nothing like the triple crown not showing up till game 4 and even then striking out. On a serious note, I’d cuddle and console that cute Tiger cheerleader.
