after 9/11 I applied and passed the intital tests for special agent. The battery of applicants I was assigned to had like 450 qualifiers for like 110 spots. They said half would get busted for lying on applications.

Many applicants are active cops/former military so the applicant pool is probably not smoking much.

well, this was a while ago. It was sort of a “if you haven’t done X in Y years…” I couldn’t speak to what it is now.

I think they’ve grown at least a little more lenient in some regards to stuff like that. Chronic users of anything definitely. But these days if they turned down everyone that ever smoked a doobie they’d be missing out on too many quality people, because that’d wipe out the vast majority of applicants.

he got lucky then as i recall the cops got called for some domestic situation; they came in, made sure everything was okay the lady wasnt getting beat up or nothing, then they saw like 5-6 little bags on the counter. whoops.
