I think that, a) we are going to go 0-8 in SEC play, and b) Chizik gets one more year, and yes, c) it will be conditional on Loeffler being fired. That’s my opinion anyway. The offense has been bad, bad, bad, bad, which I attribute the brunt of to woeful QB play. But it’s really easy to justify getting rid of Loeffler. Not so much for getting rid of a coach that just won a national title, especially with so much potential from a young team.

Sorry, Chizik is done. Besides getting rid of Loeffler presumes that Chizik can find a replacement. He can’t – he had enough trouble getting Loeffler, and word is out that Chizik’s not going to let you run your own offense. Now, he could appoint his assistant Luper to OC, but Luper won’t be hanging around, either. As they say, once you’ve decided to fire someone, you should just go ahead and fire him, not waste time letting him “save” his job.

Petrino and Fisher have their supporters among those who would choose a replacement. I would have told it was Petrino a week ago but now I’m not so sure. He may get it just because Fisher and Strong will get raises at their respective schools.

Underrated in Tennessee’s demise…their sudden inability to recruit the states of South Carolina & Georgia. Fulmer & Co. came into both states and stole top-flight recruits with regularity. Both states have far superior high school talent. Tennessee cannot survive on getting the top recruits in Tennessee alone.

He said he was in there and heard something about a press conference then.
