The play should be called dead and flagged………a red player at the :23 mark removes his helmet in disgust and this is an automatic penalty. Hope all the kids make it through this game and its ending without too many problems with parents, bullies etc.

Illegal Forward Pass. If A (offense) accepts period is extended for one play and B (defense) can take a knee. If A declines, the illegal forward pass is incomplete and the game is over.

I coach my kids U6 soccer team in a rec league that doesn’t keep score. You know who keeps the score, the kids. They constantly update me on the score of the game and who’s winning and who has the most goals despite my best efforts to tell them we’re just playing for fun. There’s nothing wrong with kids being competitive and playing to win. Its the overzealous parents who ruin it.

The clock doesn’t stop after a kickoff at that level unless you go out of bounds….pretty sure that’s why the kid jetted out of bounds on the kickoff

I think it is illegal advancement, not an illegal forward pass. Ball remains live. If the team that “threw” the ball recovers, penalty is assessed from the spot of the “throw”.

So do I, in the “lets go outside and shoot the basketball for an hour,” not “lets drive somewhere, sit and wait, then practice drills and stupid crap and then drive somewhere else and play games with officials.”

The jogging trail my wife and I use goes by a local HS field that hosts these games on the weekend. The parents yelling and talking shit and being horrible people is just amazing.

I think sports are great for kids to get involved in… but the number of asshole parents/coaches involved has me seriously questioning whether I’d subject any of my future children to that. It’s my belief that up until high school it should be simply used as a teaching tool. I’m certainly not one of these “ribbons for everyone” people – there should be winners and losers… but the amount of vitriol and anger you see from losing coaches/parents is absurd.

Way too much testosterone coming from the coaches who failed to do anything after high school involved.
