Barack Obama and Mitt Romney May Appear on Monday Night Football to be Interviewed By Chris Berman
Is ESPN’s NFL coverage not insufferable enough for your tastes? Well what if Chris Berman interviewed Barack Obama and Mitt Romney? Would you like some light politicking in your sports!? Of course you would! Rock the vote America! If Obama and Romney don’t appear on Monday Night Football to answer a few softball questions, how will you know how to vote? I wonder if Obama will tell Berman that he hopes to go back-back-back-back to the White House!

ESPN is such a joke.
October 22nd, 2012 at 4:47 PM
The end is nigh.
October 22nd, 2012 at 4:47 PM
Wow, the asshole trifecta. 12/12/12 has come early.
October 22nd, 2012 at 4:48 PM
I hope he gives them cool nicknames.
October 22nd, 2012 at 4:54 PM
How dare you besmirch the name of Aaron Rodgers Day like this…normally I’d complain about government wasting its time with something like this but with our current crop the less they do, the better

My head just broke. Hopefully it’s not karaoke night at the Applebee’s.

Did someone say Karaoke? Don’t threaten me with a good time.

awesome. so chris berman gets to asks pointless questions in his classic pushingoutahugeturd voice.
screw both of them for doing this. neither will get my vote.

Can Rick Reilly write a column about the interview just to see what type of suicide rates we can get to?
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:04 PM
So is this happening or not? I feel like there’s something I’m missing here.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:04 PM
i would only watch this if Berman pronounces “Romney” the same way he pronounces “Raiders”
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:05 PM
For reals???
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:06 PM
Berman: Ok, guys — what’s your favorite team?
Obama: I’m partial to the Packers myself.
Romney: No one shall ever surpass the Boston Beaneaters.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:06 PM
so is this happening or not? I feel like there’s something I’m missing here.
ESPN did the same thing the last election… so yes.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:06 PM
I am wondering as well. There is not a link to anything suggesting it’s real. I guess because they were on in 2008?
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:07 PM
OH OH OH.
Yeah, the title of this post is rather…. vague.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:07 PM
Let’s run a carbon-dating test here:
Who was the first presidential candidate you voted for?
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:08 PM
Jesse “the Body” Ventura.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:10 PM
Carter, in 1980. He got smoked by Ronnie Ray-Gun.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:10 PM
I can’t decide if it would be strange to do it with the debate on tonight or not. I guess if the goal is to purposely annoy people who chose to watch football over the debate it’s a good idea.

The election and the future of Amurrrrrrica rests in this man’s bloated/sweaty/clammy hands:

Over the weekend, watched reruns of the SNL highlights from the previous 2000s elections. Fey as Palin is funny as ever (“Now I’m gonna do some fancy pageant walkin’”). Poehler as Hillary, Ferrell as Bush (“strategery”) and that dude as Gore (“lockbox!”) were all classics.

Considering the quality of tail I’ve seen Burman and Whitlock with in photos, they must both be monstrously hung.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:12 PM
I’d jump on board with that. But Brewster’s Millions taught me that voting “None of the Above” is also acceptable.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:15 PM
SROD, I woulda figured you for 1972 or ’76.
Mine was the same year, but (as noted in an earlier post) I went for Barry Commoner, as I could not bring myself to vote for either Carter and Reagan. Kind of like this year, in which I can’t stomach either Obama or Romney.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:15 PM
Jason Sudeikis and Jay Pharoah have been pretty good this year. Jay has Obama’s voice on lock and I am dying anytime Sudeikis goes full Romney mode.

I told you last week, and I’ll tell you again. Nada, I can always, always count on you. Huzzah!
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:23 PM
Ha!
Didn’t you play hoops at Memphis in the early ’70s, with Finch?
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:27 PM
Not quite.
I played JV during the ’79-80 season. Finch was an assistant coach/lead recruiter for Dana Kirk (R.I.P. to both). Didn’t finish the season. Got benched for a varsity guy (A. Maceo Battle), pouted, then quit.
Didn’t have much perspective back then. Don’t have much more than that now.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:29 PM
Can Newton needs a guy like you in his ear.
My bad on the dates, I thought you played with Finch. I guess I’m only a year behind you, then.
Suddenly I feel old.

October 22nd, 2012 at 5:54 PM
The highlights of my karoake career:
1) Singing the Sex Pistols’ “God Save the Queen” to a group of rather bewildered Japanese at Henry Miller’s widow’s bar in Tokyo;
2) Singing Tom Waits’s “The Piano Has Been Drinking” at a bar in West By God and getting a standing ovation.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:54 PM
Al Gore, I became jaded about politics early
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:55 PM
Was drunk on Canadian beer voting for Kerry. Almost knocked over the booth.
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:55 PM
“I Broke My Charry With Kerry” would have been an awesome bumper sticker in 2004 and might have swung the election thanks to the elusive swingers vote!
October 22nd, 2012 at 5:55 PM
“Cherry,” not “Charry.” FML.

I watched Sharon Needles (drag queen from Pittsburgh, won that Rupaul show) do Rock and Roll Part II, sitting on a stool, just saying a drawn out “hey” each time and it was one of the funniest goddamn things I’ve ever seen in my life. Hard to explain, but it was outstanding showmanship.
I earlier in the evening did Shadows Of The Night.

//spencer, my brother can’t get out of CSU fast enough. Apparently, if he had landed a gig with a symphony, he would have quit grad school immediately. He’s got one semester left.

he had a second performance audition with the Toronto Symphony last week. He’s one of two finalists for the timpanist position. So proud of him. He has the ambition and focus I never had as a musician
October 22nd, 2012 at 6:20 PM
wow…badass. sucks he couldnt get a gig with the CSO…that’d have been mawney. few years there and he’d prolly have his choice of cities to live in.
October 22nd, 2012 at 6:21 PM
best of luck to him too…great article on how tough it is getting a gig with a top flight outfit.
October 22nd, 2012 at 6:21 PM
I just think he wants to find something stable in a place where he’d like to live… (and then I think he’ll finally propose to his lady of 2 years.) She actually lives in Syracuse right now and I’m amazed they’ve made it work.
October 22nd, 2012 at 6:23 PM
so he graduates on the same day that my other brother and wife (as of this december) graduate from college. He already said he’s not staying around for graduation. He doesn’t care about it.
