Saturday Night Football: Kansas State at West Virginia
The two leading Heisman candidates square off in a Big 12 Title six-pointer. Kansas State wants to assert itself as a legit national title contender. West Virginia wants to bounce back strong after being boat-raced by Texas Tech. This matchup is an offensive contrast, but in pace rather than production. West Virginia is seventh nationally against FBS, averaging 6.77 yards per play. Kansas State, averaging 6.71 per play, is ninth.
The Wildcats will try to follow Texas Tech’s formula, but the Red Raiders have a very good pass defense. KSU merely has a decent one. Also worth noting: West Virginia is 18th in yards allowed per carry. Collin Klein is not the best quarterback to hit their defense’s weak point: getting beat over the top.
Alabama at Tennessee: The rivalry Alabama wants to play up and maintain. LSU plays Florida every year. Alabama plays a perpetual 20-point underdog.
Penn State at Iowa: Iowa has owned Penn State, of late. They have won eight of the last ten meetings. They have not lost in Iowa since 1995. Joe Paterno was so old-school he made Kirk Ferentz look creative and jovial.

No. And that last pass proved it. However, 7/8, 118 yards, 1 TD, means he is a hell of a college QB. He won’t get receivers with linebackers/d-backs sitting 10 yards off them in the pros.

went to a wedding tonight. the couple got married on the front porch and the reception was in a huge barn out back…

I have a lot of good cassettes I can’t listen to myself. Tried to find a stock radio for my truck that had both cassette and CD player, and I remember feeling awkward when the guy had to scream out to his counterpart a ways away in front of another group of customers, “You know if we got any cassette playing stereos?” Tried to play it off. “Oh it’s not for me, it’s for a friend. Who listens to cassettes anymore? Definitely not this guy. Seriously, you got a cassette player or not?”

in college i used Vegas Studio, which Sony put out at the time. pretty affordable for editing video, easy to use. A lot has come out since then, but there’s a lot of basic options out there that will let you cut the film, add in audio, transitions and simple effects.
I think it’s been renamed to Sony Movie Studio or something.

They make digital cameras with the usb attached to the strap of the camera these days pretty cheap. That might be the best/easiest way for a younger kid to use it without having to mess around with any tapes or too many cables. You should be able to get something in the $200 range these days if you want a decent picture.
You probably already have MovieMaker (PC) or iMovie (Mac) on your home computer that he can use. After that, Sony Vegas or Sony Movie Studio are both under $100…but I’m thinking the free software that comes with most computers might be best for his age.
