Joe Biden Lied About Playing College Football For Delaware in the 60′s [Update: Sort Of]
Fair and balanced. Here at TBL (a Kabletown subsidiary, formerly of Sheinhardt Wig Company) we strive to be fair and balanced if nothing else. Since we posted about Paul Ryan’s exaggerated marathon time, it is fair and balanced of us to share with you the tall tales of one Mr. Joe Biden, the Vice President of the United States of America.
On Saturday, September 8, 2012, Biden claimed that he had been a part of the Delaware football team that went to Ohio and beat the Bobcats. After that game, he wandered into a girls’ dorm room and almost got arrested.Yeah? Well, he didn’t! From Gateway Pundit:
Joe Biden did not play football at the University of Delaware in 1961, 1962, 1963, or 1964, according to past yearbooks. The 1984 University of Delaware yearbook included an interview with Joe Biden. It’s Biden first ever interview were he talks about his “triple major” (later during Biden’s 1988 presidential campaign he admitted he lied and had two majors, not three) and playing “intramural football” (flag football). There is no mention about him playing college football.
So Paul Ryan doesn’t run as fast as he says he did and Joe Biden lied about playing football for some reason. Paul Ryan is 42. Joe Biden is 69. Both these guys grew up in a time when you could lie about stuff and nobody would pull something out of his pocket and immediately discredit you. They should know better by now though. I mean, it’s 2012!
Update: Biden’s office released a statement saying that he had made the team in the spring of his junior year, but never actually played football. He was just telling the story about how he went to cheer for his team.

Not surprised. Joe Biden is pretty much full of shit and has been for years.
Love watching people who just heard of Biden in 2008 drink the Kool Aid of Biden being some old wise man.

I wish you would have put this in the AM round-up so the political circle jerkers could shoot jizz at each other in one post.

I was in Delaware last week.
/all I got

I knew there was a good reason why I don’t like politics.

Oh man the collective joy in the whip cracks from Jimmy Chitwood and MikeNYC’s houses as they reprimand their house boys is deafening.

Consider yourself lucky.
/was born there
//went to HS there
///if it wasn’t for tax free shopping and loose laws for incorporation, MD, PA, and NJ would simply split that state up.

Sports gaffes have to be my favorite part of the political process, from John Kerry saying “Lambert Field” during a campaign stop in Wisconsin to John McCain telling two versions of a POW camp story where he changed who his favorite football team was…when pandering to the common man goes wrong
October 17th, 2012 at 10:51 AM
I swear Delaware should just turn itself into a statewide version of Las Vegas, up to and including legalizing prostitution. I would visit far more often.

“My favorite player would be Manny Ortiz.”

Seriously, how hard is it to keep your Hanoi Hilton stories straight?

“My favorite player would be Manny Ortiz.”
-John Kerry, 2004
I think one thing we can all come together on from both the left and right is that John Kerry was one awkward candidate. The video of him windsurfing was nearly his equivalent of Dukakis riding in the M2 Bradley in ’88.

Is the part about the girl’s dorm true though? I really want to believe Uncle Joe is the Onion character of him

Ted Kennedy talking about Mike McGwire and Sammy Sooser in ’98 is also a happy memory
October 17th, 2012 at 10:56 AM
CRM for President!

“Mike McGwire….and Sammy Suser”
Ted Kennedy.
/in fairness to him, he was prolly loaded
October 17th, 2012 at 10:57 AM
Ted Kennedy talking about Mike McGwire and Sammy Sooser in ’98 is also a happy memory
That had less to do with him being out of touch and more with the fact that he had a gallon of whiskey floating around in his system at all times.

Delaware has nice beach towns (Rehoboth, Dewey, & Bethany). The rest of the state is poor and meth addicted.
October 17th, 2012 at 10:58 AM
Did I miss where he said he played football for the team? This is like saying Spencer plays for the Buckeyes when he says “We beat Penn State.”.
October 17th, 2012 at 10:59 AM
This is very true of Southern Delaware, which you must drive through to get to their shore points.
October 17th, 2012 at 10:59 AM
Delaware is one of only six states I’ve never been to. I hope to change that sometime by going to Punkin Chunkin.

I’m pretty sure I saw him on the field last night for UNT as they beat Louisiana-Lafayette.

Politicians lie? Never knew.

Thus explaining Monster Is Meth’s sobriquet.
Also, shouldn’t this post have the “Jerks” tag?
October 17th, 2012 at 11:01 AM
I agree that Delaware is a state in theory.

Wilmington is nice enough, but for all intents and purposes it’s a suburb of Philly.
October 17th, 2012 at 11:03 AM
He started to say he was a football player, stopped mid-sentence, and then told a story about going to see OU and Delaware.
/nobody watches the videos

I stopped in just long enough to see that Jimmy Chitwood was giving it his level best.
October 17th, 2012 at 11:09 AM
They’re all liars.
Who gives a shit?
October 17th, 2012 at 11:10 AM

It is the same shit every time. Nothing new. And nobody is every going to change anyone’s mind in a round-up post with that has a horrible picture of a hot chick. Fucking science.
/does not remember round-up girl from this morning.
October 17th, 2012 at 11:13 AM
Except that…he DID play football at Delaware. He was on the freshman team, and his father made him quit because it was affecting his grades. This is a well-documented fact. He didn’t claim to play in the game at Ohio.
October 17th, 2012 at 11:13 AM
I forgot to mention Dover is fun, if you’re a redneck that’s into racin.
October 17th, 2012 at 11:32 AM
I drove through Delaware once.
October 17th, 2012 at 11:43 AM
obama talking about youkilis going to chicago when he was in boston was good stuff. not a mistake, but not pandering either
October 17th, 2012 at 11:51 AM
Yeah, I don’t think he said he played for Delaware. But that’s OK, it’s Biden.
October 17th, 2012 at 11:51 AM
Only the GOP lies

Seriously who cares about Biden. The man has proven to be a buffoon many times over. Did enjoy his Jack Nicholson glued-on-joker-smirk in the debate though.
October 17th, 2012 at 1:01 PM
Biden and Ryan are both egocentric wannabes. Just like most politicians.
October 17th, 2012 at 1:02 PM
Love watching people who just heard of Biden in 2008 drink the Kool Aid of Biden being some old wise man.
I have never encountered this phenomenon. Hilarious, yes, but wise?
