Youth Football Coach With Criminal Record Slapped a Referee in the Head [Video]
Florida: Referees called a youth football game because of an unsportsmanlike penalty so a “coach” attacked one of the referees. Dion Robinson, the well-qualified 43-year-old assistant coach, has quite the resume. From the Broward Palm Beach New Times:
Aside from going out of his way to open palm slap referees at youth football games, Robinson also has an extensive criminal record, which includes aggravated assault, and assault with a firearm. Oh and he has multiple arrests for cocaine distribution.
This guy sounds great. The parents who allow their children to be coached by guy with that past sound great. Everybody sounds great. The Broward Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for Robinson.

No guarantee that the parents know this. I’d like to give some of them the benefit of the doubt. But that fuck head coach needs to be run from the league and jailed.

If we’re going to keep all the ex-cons away from kids….
And this is hardly anything new. Parents and coaches acting like major league dicks at the refs because the ref is denying little Timmy his chance to impress that college scout and giving the parents/coaches the chance to live through the kid? Happens all the time

Fucking Patriots get all the calls.

literally every single one of those qualities makes for a good football player. if anything, im thinking he’s overqualified. he should probably be a position coach for an arena league team or a creepy handler for some hot shot HS recruit, not a youth football coach. he’s clearly ready for a promotion.

Deion Sander’s PrimeTime Academy has a peewee team?

Agree. Assistant coach at this level could just be some dad/uncle that just hangs around the team.

I coach a high school baseball team in the summer. Haven’t had a parent issue yet, but whoa have I had some opposing coach issues. Dude wanted to fight me on the pitchers mound because I overheard his argument to the umpire about why his baserunner that plowed my fielder who was about to catch a popup in the baseline should be safe and I told another umpire “there’s no way that’s correct, right?” All it took and that guy came unglued. People are dumb.

The most shocking part of that video was that I spotted a couple of white people in the crowd.

scouts.

that referee is overweight.
When I saw this last night on another popular sports blog, and had a conversation about it on the twitters, I mentioned that most of the people in this video needed to pull their pants up.
I thought the bad guy was going for a gun at one point, but he was actually just grabbing the waist of his cargo shorts to keep them up, as he had been doing for his whole “sack race style” sprint to punch that fat ref.

That’s going to leave a hash mark…

internet scouts can just break down this tape instead.

number 59 has prototypical size and a frame that should be able to carry the extra weight but he’s facing the wrong way which leads some to think he doesn’t have ideal instincts for the position.

Also never been to South Florida.

Remember a few weeks ago there was a crazy wedding brawl in Philadelphia? On a scale of 1-10, how racist was I to be totally shocked that it was between two white wedding parties and not black or hispanic weddings?

October 16th, 2012 at 10:44 AM

October 16th, 2012 at 10:45 AM
I was thinking more like Tea Party, but yeah, I guess that would work.

The black Eagles jerseys were easily the worst of the last fifteen years until Detroit made their black ones.

I remember doing a scouting report of Jesus and someone jumping in and mentioning that Jesus would have ball control issues due to holes in his hands. One of my favourite comments ever.

Arizona and Jacksonville jerseys don’t count as nobody has actually seen a game where either is featured.

I’ve made an effort not to ruffle the feathers of religious folk, wish I had come up with that though
October 16th, 2012 at 10:54 AM
I salute this guy for coaching football. He’s obviously not getting employed with that criminal record and he has to do something with his time.
It’s too bad he went off on that ref.
October 16th, 2012 at 10:54 AM
Butters I suggest comment 192 in the roundup.

Those guys that have to pull up their pants while they run would be among the first to go in a zombie apocalypse.
October 16th, 2012 at 10:55 AM
coach must have claimed a big bounty from the players for that move.
October 16th, 2012 at 10:56 AM
I’m only 30, asshole
October 16th, 2012 at 10:57 AM
jesus is one of the most clutch performers in football. was responsible for one of the greatest comebacks in history. off the charts character and leadership skills but has a tendency to ruffle the feathers of those in charge. rumors of him washing strangers feet gives general managers pause as teams would like to avoid a potential washingfeetgate scandal.
October 16th, 2012 at 10:57 AM
I like Arizona’s black jerseys.

October 16th, 2012 at 11:32 AM
Technically, yes. Realistically, their colors should be black and blue.
