Robinson Cano, who finished the regular season with 196 hits, has gone hitless in his last 26 at-bats, setting a new, obscenely embarrassing major league postseason record.

The embattled Yankee second baseman is so lost at the plate it’s begun to affect his glove, as turning a routine double play in Game 2 on Sunday afternoon looked more like a highlight from little league, and of course led to a Tigers run rather than the end of an inning.

In short, Cano and nearly all of the Yankee bats have been an abomination. Alex Rodriguez and Curtis Granderson have combined for an incredible 26 strikeouts in 48 at-bats — Granderson promptly whiffed on cue to end the game after the above graphic was shown — and Nick Swisher looks more lost and unfamiliar with his surroundings than Kramer did while panicking at 1st and 1st, more commonly known as the nexus of the universe.

Aside from the starting pitching, the Yankees look like a team that’s given up, almost asking to be sent home, and the lifeless crowd at Yankee Stadium has fittingly followed suit.
