Jason Garrett Continues to Suck in Late Game Situations, Despite Gift Onside Kick Recovery. Baltimore 31, Dallas 29

All, NFL, Video Jason Lisk October 14th. 2012, 4:35pm

Last year, I wrote about Jason Garrett’s apparently terminal case of Conservatitis when it came to decision making and late game situations. I’m going to go ahead and declare time of death to be at about 4:20 eastern time on October 14, 2012.

Dallas looked like they were in trouble, down 8 facing a really long 3rd down after penalties. Romo then rallied them, with the help of Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, to convert. Dallas eventually scored the touchdown but missed the two-point conversion when Bryant dropped the pass.

However, they recovered the onsides kick. Good teams make their own luck. A good coach would have pressed it there. Thirty seconds left, one timeout, and a team in Baltimore no where near its reputation right now defensively. What does Dallas do? After a gift pass interference call that got them to the 35 yard line (and remember, clock stops on penalties), Dallas ran exactly one more play, a safe conservative short slant to pick up a few yards. One play.

Missed field goal, and this one’s on Garrett. Stop coaching like an idiot.

Hilarious. Garret has to go. I’d get rid of Dez too, guy kills them every week with mistakes.

Yeah, but Dez got them back in the game with the TDs and the nice 3&27 play where he picked up almost 20 yds. DAL killed themselves with timely penalties and the 108yd kickoff. They dominated the stats.

Did you see the recent post by “Beyond the Bets” about teams that get blown out the previous and are underdogs the next? Hitting 56%. I know that doesn’t sound great, but the game should be close. May the odds be ever in your favor

I like what I see from Tannehill. He doesn’t try to be the hero. Does just enough to win and doesn’t kill the team with mistakes.
Haven been pleasantly surprised. I saw him in college and it looked like he had a big arm, but you just dont know about the decision making cause college is quite the step down from pros. He has been smart and doesnt do more than he can/should.

How long has it been for you? Jim Kelly? Cardinals had that for with 2008 Kurt Warner, but before that it was late 90s Jake the Snake.

He’s been good. I know at the beginning of the season I was wishing they’d stuck with Moore. I know I’m late on that, but the fucking boss lady was in here today for some reason. Ah man, that sucks. MIA’s win was great 17-14. Thought the DEF played lights out, again. limiting the STL to 6pts thru the 4 Qtrs and then got lazy at the beginning of the 4th. The fake punt on 4th and short late in the 4th definitely wasted more time and was a surprise. You could tell Fisher was pissed about MIA getting it. Hey, 3-3! it’s a start.

They had the Eagles radio on at work, and listening to his press conference I was waiting for him to abruptly stop talking and then hear someone in the background scream, “Someone call 911!” Dude always sounds like he’s getting ready to go into cardiac arrest.

The play calls in OT were awful and Vick is a turnover machine. Can’t blame the DC this year.
The Lions front seven actually showed up but still were offsides like 5 fucking times. HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT KEEP HAPPENING EACH WEEK!? That PI called on Lacy was BS too. Oh well. Lions are horrible.
