Drew Storen Dejectedly Staring at Nothing is Beyond Depressing
The Washington Nationals came within one strike of sending the pesky St. Louis Cardinals home and advancing to the NLCS to face the Giants. In fact, Nats closer Drew Storen had five different, two-strike, two-out counts in the ninth inning. They were literally within a pube strand of closing the deal, but it never happened. The above photo of a mentally vacant Storen deftly illustrates the shock and colossal disappointment. The empty cart in front of him says it all.

Feel awful for him. Hope he has a great year next season.

Davey Johnson needs to be eviscerated for bringing in Edwin Jackson in the biggest game in 70 frigging years for the Nats. Got the whole thing rolling down hill with EJ who is the worst.

Gio Gonzalez – who I like immensely – is the biggest culprit. He should’ve locked it down last night. His demeanor was never right. The game was too big for him. The inner infielders (Desmond, Espinosa) also didn’t contribute a lick.
