Because ESPN, NFL Network ,etc prolonged it. Seemed like they wanted some Cal Ripken Jr. moment to make everyone forget about the shittiness and chaos of the ref fiasco. I don’t remember growing up hearing tales of the Unitas TD streak like DiMagio’s or Gehrig’s. Hell, even the Patriots topping the Dolphins regular win streak didn’t get pub like this.
