Frank Caliendo Will Join Sunday NFL Countdown Because ESPN Hates You
ANNOUNCEMENT: This Sunday I start on @espn with Chris Berman and the crew on #NFL COUNTDOWN. #LiveInStudio #MoreInfoAsTheDayGoesOn
— Frank Caliendo (@FrankCaliendo) October 11, 2012
NFL pregame shows are bloated, painful and unwatchable. Thus, it should come as no surprise that Frank Caliendo will join NFL Countdown on ESPN starting this Sunday. Caliendo will bring his special brand of annoying impersonations and impressions to the set for what is sure to air on television on Sundays. The only question is whether or not the ESPN crew can fake their laughter as hard or harder than the FOX crew did when Caliendo was polluting those airwaves.
Now add Chris Berman to that equation. I’ll race you to the nearest bridge.

this move by ESPN has absolutely no effect on me, outside of this lousy post about it.
Media mused.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:32 AM
There is no God.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:32 AM
GREAT NEWS!
/nobody
//Doesn’t watch ESPN on Sundays
October 11th, 2012 at 10:34 AM
I don’t watch pre-game shows, so this doesn’t matter to me. However, I’m interested in finding out why someone would follow this guy on Twitter.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:36 AM
Pretty sure this is God saying “Get your asses in church until kickoff”.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:37 AM
i lolled.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:38 AM
The subset of football fans who actually watch ESPN pregame will enjoy this. I assume there’s a heavy overlap between that group and the group that fights in the stands at their home games.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:38 AM
Chicago people know him as jim belushi
October 11th, 2012 at 10:38 AM
Would wager anything this sparks an increase in their ratings.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:38 AM
Is it 2007 again?
Geoffrey Arend’s Walken >>> Any of Caliendo’s impressions
October 11th, 2012 at 10:39 AM
2003 called, they want their unfunny spare comedian back.
seriously, caliendo is not funny at all.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:40 AM
+1 for using this joke to make fun of someone else being unfunny
October 11th, 2012 at 10:41 AM
i still think caliendo’s jim rome was phenomenal.
A-RUG-ULA.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:43 AM
Yeah it was. This guy has made me laugh a lot more than Joel McHale or that annoying black “rapper” has, even if his schtick is very tired at this point. Haters.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:43 AM
I believe they will actually find him funny.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:43 AM
ESPN resorted to pumping up weak Sunday AM show with Fox’s scraps.
Yikes.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:44 AM
I’m not a Caliendo fan, but the hour he spent on the LeBatard Show doing his Morgan Freeman impression was one of the funniest things I’ve heard this year.
/all i got
October 11th, 2012 at 10:44 AM
Fox did the same by hiring Erin Andrews.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:44 AM
Can we get a ratings post on the pregame shows. I’m genuinely interested how many viewers they are getting and which network gets the best ratings. I can’t imagine wasting any of my precious weekend on such drivel.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:45 AM
Berman and Caliendo should be glad that hunting humans is illegal.
/it is still illegal, right?
October 11th, 2012 at 10:45 AM
I don’t wish death on anybody… I do now.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:46 AM
+1 for using this joke to make fun of someone else being unfunny
if caliendo says that phrase on countdown, Cris Carter and TJ will overlaugh so hard, you will be able to see doodoo shoot out all over the desk.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:47 AM
Sadly enough, I was about to ask the same thing. I’m actually curious as to the numbers they get.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:48 AM
Sunday mornings are for waking up on the floor and going to bed, upon waking watching EPL and drinking your last beers while trying to locate your wallet/keys. Basically you have a couple of drinking hours to de-shamble your life before football starts and the hangover reaches fever pitch. Precious hours not to be wasted on and ever growing collection of jabbering Cunt-iots.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:50 AM
I may regret this question, but does anyone know how much he pulls in for his pre-game segments?
October 11th, 2012 at 10:50 AM
Fuck.
/now I’m not even invited to the birthday party I dis-invited you all from
October 11th, 2012 at 10:51 AM
You guys can all come party at my place, no Cambodians allowed.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:52 AM
DO NOT WANT.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:53 AM
Fox did the same by hiring Erin Andrews.
I always tune into that show. For a couple of minutes. To see what EA is wearing, and how skinny her arms look. Then I go back watching the clock till 1am when the Oregon game starts.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:55 AM
Ewwwww sloppy seconds!
October 11th, 2012 at 10:55 AM
not gonna lie…really liking fox’s CFB coverage. gus johnson and charles davis are a really good crew.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:55 AM
i hated frank caliendo until he got in an argument with josh innes in houston. josh innes is just the worst.

October 11th, 2012 at 10:56 AM
Cool, I’ll bring beers does anyone know how to get there?

@ReginaGeorge says OMFG Great weekend no Canadians #sousedbergin
October 11th, 2012 at 10:58 AM
I think people turn on their TVs before the games and just leave them on for background noise so they can be ready when the game starts.
/Good afternoon, ma’am. I’m Donald Clemons from the A.C. Nielsen Company. You’ve been selected as a preliminary candidate to become our next Nielsen family in the tri-county area. If selected, you’ll help shape television programming viewed by our entire nation – in return for which you’ll receive a check in the amount of $286 each month.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:58 AM
gus johnson and charles davis are a really good crew.
No. Gus was doing that Gus thing where a five yard hitch was the equivalent of a Hail Mary completion.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:59 AM
gus johnson and charles davis are a really good crew.
yeah, you can mute them right when you flip to that channel, and know for certain you’re missing nothing of quality.
October 11th, 2012 at 10:59 AM
i was speaking more about how much i like charles davis, but this is valid.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:00 AM
Frank Caliendo’s worth.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:01 AM
Just because the sight of Eddie George makes you tingle in your daddy parts
October 11th, 2012 at 11:02 AM
god I hate this
October 11th, 2012 at 11:02 AM
I won!
/wait, which bridge?
October 11th, 2012 at 11:02 AM
Come on man.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:03 AM
it’s not just the sight…the tingling starts before he’s even on screen. i think it’s probably my sixth or even seventh sense.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:05 AM
Spencer the Metroparks is taking over the Acacia property. Won’t become a public golf course.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:06 AM
i heard that this weekend…very disappointed. not sure why they’d turn down revenue like that but i heard a 3rd party bought the property and donated it to the MPs.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:07 AM
I never listen to 610, but Josh Innes sounds like a douche.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:07 AM
Metroid parks?
October 11th, 2012 at 11:11 AM
yep…and im in charge of sculpting the samus statue for the new one.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:11 AM
Twaaaaaaaat?
/pours one out
October 11th, 2012 at 11:12 AM
In searching for a picture of Samus sitting on a park bench I discovered there’s a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of Samus porn out there.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:13 AM
ive always found video game themed porn the epitome of sadness.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:15 AM
Yeah. At the same time, our Soul Calibur discussion yesterday had me looking at a lot of Wiki pages on the characters and man, Ivy.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:15 AM
I mean, what?
Hey look over there
October 11th, 2012 at 11:16 AM
i always loved the gratuitous boob jiggle the programmers put in there. shit won’t quit. tho i think they probably couldve found some unis that were a little more…how you say…functional.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:17 AM
hahaha…not sadness for looking. sadness for creating it.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:20 AM
@ReginaGeorge says OMFG Great weekend no Canadians #sousedbergin
it’s cool, because regina and her pals have never met you so regina said, hey, i decided we don;t want soused at the party because he seems like a douche on a blog plus he’s older and probably nowhere near as cool–toats, cyber hi fives–so i want you guys to think just like me and we can giggle everytime we flash a code word in our supersecret communications. oh, and if he mentions the party, just don’t reply or engage and he might go away, or just tell him that supersecret communication is just for ‘out of towners’. can we have a password or something? group cyber hug!
October 11th, 2012 at 11:21 AM
this is more fun than i thought it might be (only child hugs self)
October 11th, 2012 at 11:24 AM
I cant wait to watch him interact with Berman
/said nobody
//NFL Network Gameday viewer
///Also terrible with Warren Sapp
October 11th, 2012 at 11:27 AM
NFL Network pregame show is infinitely more watchable than countdown simply because they understand they’re a joke and play into it. Countdown is under the impression the world hangs on its every word.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:30 AM
i prefer the traditional sunday morning WWII doc’s military channel runs as my NFL pregame.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:32 AM
Countdown definitely takes itself way too serious. Berman, Jackson, Carter, Keyshaun, Ditka. Just the most insufferable collection of “analysts” ever
October 11th, 2012 at 11:35 AM
NFL Pre-game show’s?
what’s that?
October 11th, 2012 at 11:38 AM
it’s just an extension of the time they spent in locker rooms, yukking it up. i’d watch if they were uncensored
October 11th, 2012 at 11:42 AM
If I had to watch one it would be CBS
October 11th, 2012 at 11:46 AM
Looks like an improper apostrophe use to me from here.
October 11th, 2012 at 11:51 AM
I just need 2 minutes of Andrew Siciliano before he sends me out to the games.
/no coop
October 15th, 2012 at 8:39 AM
Well, duh.
