Imagine if say Misty May dove into the stands and a dude grabbed her ass. Kicked out, lawsuits, jail, public uproar to follow…

The question is are we allowed to apply common sense to this or not? Assuming we are:

If a woman pats a man on the butt there’s very little reason make much of it, if a man cops a feel there is a much larger danger in not expressing as a society that this is behavior we will not tolerate since on the average escalation is a more of a concern when the man is getting grabby.

The point here is that men and women are quite different in their tendencies, motivations and needs for protection such that protecting women from men is a much higher societal priority than protecting men from women whether we find it politically incorrect or not.

Another way to approach this is to consider your reaction when your 18 year old son falls into the stands vs. your 18 year old daughter. No one wants anyone touched however…

Consistency is simply the bane of small minds.

a male fan? no way. i’m not even sure a coach/manager would get away with slapping a female player on the but after a good play without repercussions.

While this is true, I’m not sure what you’re after here. Should this woman be sued, punched, kicked out or jailed? Or should Misty May, in your hypothetical just laugh it off?
