Beano Cook, the legendary college football analyst at ESPN, has died at the age of 81 according to Ivan Maisel.

I am very sorry to tell you that Beano Cook died in his sleep. He was 81. If you love college football, you will miss him.

I loved the way he said No-truh Dame, but his Penn State and Army football stories were what stand out to me. Hate losing old people. Like, really old people.

I forget the whole story but his joke with Bowie Kuhn about the hostages is legendary. At least he lived a full life and went in his sleep. College football lost a good one today.

I was out with some friends in Pittsburgh when I was in college in the early 90′s and we saw Beano out having dinner. He seemed ancient, even then.

People passing away is a sad event, and it’s sad news. He’s telling people he’s sorry for having to break the bad news that someone people loved passed away. Did I really have to explain that?

I really can’t believe how many of you magoos actually liked Beano Cook. I used to hate seeing that guy on TV, even 30 years ago.
