While I agree, most of his signings/draft picks have been terrible the last few years, they did extend him for a reason. That reason, cap flexibility over the next few years.

That being said, they are something like $8 million under the cap, and they started the season without a real #2 WR or #1 RB (Greene isn’t one). That money could have gone to Cedric Benson, yes I know he was injured, and/or Braylon Edwards. Edwards and Sanchez had a good relationship and while he’s not having a good year in Seattle, as a #1 with a QB he knows, you have to think he’d be doing better.

I thought he did a real nice job, esp for a college QB, of “throwing” guys open… it wasn’t always the easy play. I don’t know that he’ll be great, but since QBs go so early, it’s not crazy to take him top 10.

not necessarily, but don’t think that’s a bad thing. banner’s just a salary cap guru and administrator while heckert’s all personnel. it’d work extremely well. heckert’s issue was having personnel control, which wouldnt be an issue unless they hire a power hungry coach too.

No real brilliance (obviously) on my part… I just thought their skill position players were underrated, that Moss was always consistent and dangerous. I thought the division (esp Phi/Dal) was overrated. Then when McTibble dismissed them entirely, I felt that was the final key I needed to complete my guy feeling. I didn’t realize their defense was so bad.
