West Virginia Upset Texas 48-45 in Austin

Huge win for West Virginia. The game was tight, in keeping with the Law of Gus. Both defenses did well given the circumstances. Here is the turning point. Alex Okafor stripped Geno Smith deep in West Virginia territory, but Texas could not turn it into points. A bad snap knocked the Longhorns out of chip shot range. Penn State transfer Anthony Fera missed a 41-yarder to tie the game.

Every damn eight yard hitch might as well been a Hail Mary. So fucking annoying.

The No. 8 team beating the No. 11 team is an upset? OK.

Someone’s going to have to explain to me how WVU was a 7, 7.5 dog in this game. I might have bought 2 or 3 just based on it being in Austin, but a full TD?

Vegas wanted public money on WVU. That’s why the line was so big. Public was high on WVU but they weren’t beating the spread. I don’t think anyone saw Andrew Buie running for 200 yards and WVU holding Texas to 3.5 yards per carry. That was the difference.

When he first started became a name broadcaster his act wasn’t forced. It came from genuine enthusiasm. Now though he gets excited about everything and is awful. I’m glad that he won’t be doing the NCAA tournament.

I only like Gus on College Basketball. He’s the best. Not digging him in Football.
