Jay Bilas Deleted and Apologized For This “Gotta Go to Work” Tweet
Jay Bilas, who has perhaps the most interesting twitter feed at ESPN, is famous for his early morning Young Jeezy rap tweets. It’s become a thing – every morning, usually between 5-6 am, Bilas tweets out rap lyrics that revolve around going to work. (He talked with me about them at the Big East tournament.)
Early this morning, Bilas accidentally hit send before cleaning up his tweet – who hasn’t done that? – and this happened. He quickly apologized. [Screen grab via @AngryBlkManDC]

Anyone else find it funny that the Red Sox own twitter feed had “BREAKING” before they announced that they were firing their manager via tweet? They broke the news of their own firing I guess?
October 4th, 2012 at 1:12 PM
Eric Legrand cool with this, too?
October 4th, 2012 at 1:12 PM
Can we please get a nontroversy tag? Also, looks like the triple crown link at ESPN is now 1 from the bottom on the links tab. MLB = DEAD

On his deathbed, Bilas is going to wish he had those 5 minutes per day back. What an awful “thing”.
October 4th, 2012 at 1:19 PM
The Phillies just made him their 3rd base coach and it’s widely assumed that he’s going to be the manager in a year or two. I wouldn’t blame the Red Sox for interviewing him.

October 4th, 2012 at 1:21 PM
ventura showed that managing in the AL can be done by anyone with half a pulse regardless of managerial experience. that extends the list of possibilites for candidates

Another awesome, underrated movie.
why don’t you come over later and…lay some carpet.
October 4th, 2012 at 1:24 PM
I think the secret is just get someone who isn’t arrogant and unlikeable by players who also can manage a game. Can’t be too hard.

I thought spencer was dead.
If he was dead, wouldn’t his mother have been upset when she was with you last night?
October 4th, 2012 at 1:34 PM
Is Bilas that guy who refuses to follow anybody?
Yep. Blowhard.
October 4th, 2012 at 1:35 PM
Sure is. Also is the guy who makes mid six figures talking exclusively about college ball and yet complains about how college athletes are exploited for money.
October 4th, 2012 at 1:38 PM
Here ya go Jason. This is why Jay Bilas is awesome.

Speaking about making six figures, I found it ammusing this morning how the blowhards on WEEI in Boston were making fun of Valentine because he was being paid nothing to appear on their station when last year Francona was pulling down six figures doing the same.
