Tedford was successful in an era when most Pac teams, other than USC, were on a downswing. And the success had more to do with talented players like Aaron Rodgers, Marshawn Lynch, and Desean Jackson than Tedford’s coaching. The Pac now has a good number of quality coaches that are superior to Tedford.

Serious question about Mark Richt: how many times can he field a great team and not win a championship? The question is geared not toward how many times he can technically do it (he has shown us that number rises almost every year), but how many times will the AD put up with it. This is probably the same boat for a number of schools at any given time, but he seems to be the Sergio Garcia of BCS football: has the talent, never wins the big one.

Tennessee wouldn’t shock me at all. the Vols have to be ready to be at least a factor in the SEC east again, and don’t give a shit what Petrino did at Arkansas. he could have them legit again in 2 years very easily.
