To the critics of Eli Manning, the dude has led your franchise to 2 Super Bowl rings in the last 5 years. Meanwhile, Detriot Lions fans are on 54 years and counting since their last Super Bowl / NFL Championship. So technically, we shouldn’t hear a peep from Giants fan bitching about their team until at least the year 2066 (and that’s assuming the Lions take home the Lombardi trophy).
/end rant. RG3 looked fantastic btw…

I don’t care what kind of STDs she may have, Carmen Electra can still get it.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:28 AM
As a resident of Northern Virginia during the time, that was a surreal experience.

That guy who killed his girlfriend..he is from around here. That bastard will rot in jail forever.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:28 AM
Fire Mayhew, Schwartz, Cunningham, Linehan and the ST coach. Trade players for picks. Draft nothing but defense in next years draft. They may be bad enough this year to draft someone like Jones, Mingo, Montgomery, Milliner or Te’o.

That cinnamon video was outstanding. Bravo! Bravo! Well done, good Sir!

October 1st, 2012 at 8:31 AM
who is bitching about Eli? Are people really doing this?
October 1st, 2012 at 8:33 AM
i was expecting this to be the violent death video of the day.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:33 AM
Eli can actually throw a nice deep ball that hits the receiver in stride. Unlike candy ass Stafford.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:33 AM
Orioles just need to win out. I will not be able to stomach a loss in Selig’s absurd one-game dice roll wild card crapshoot. Go Boston.
The fact that the Eagles and Jets have a combined five wins is a fact I cannot get out of my head.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:34 AM
who is an Eli critic? that loss was definitely not on Eli. guy was money. is money. do you have a link to back that up?
October 1st, 2012 at 8:37 AM
Biebs yacked on stage at a concert over the weekend.
clearly, he simply couldn’t handle CK5′s lights
October 1st, 2012 at 8:37 AM
This is the Internet. There’s always someone who will criticize something/someone. Using isolated feedback after a bad loss is not a real accurate barometer of where Giants fans stand.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:37 AM
I still don’t understand not trying to run a sideline play before kicking it, especially after Reid called the TO. I understand being concerned about not getting out-of-bounds or being sacked. but that’s why you design a play to roll Eli out, so he can throw it away if nothing is there and he can avoid intentional grounding. ugh, I can stomach a miss wide (to a degree), but coming up just short is a gut punch.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:37 AM
When’s the Jets/Tebow post going up? Is J-Mac on the *gasp* Bench Sanchez bandwagon?

Think Red Sox best shot is tomorrow night against Nova. The guy looked awful last week losing to the Jays.
/really do appreciate Sox completely laying down this past weekend.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:41 AM
One Ryder Cup post will do.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:42 AM
I mean honestly, Sanchez might be the worst started QB in the league right now. Can the Jets really get worse with Tebow back there?
October 1st, 2012 at 8:43 AM
Biggest choke of Ryder Cup was Love. The way he set his team up for Sunday made the comeback possible. He knew Europe would front load their lineup. Easy throw Stricker and Furyk up against those guys. Save his gund for the back and he gets 4.5 points easy. Just dumb really.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:44 AM
Probably. Unfortunately, I think the Orioles will be lucky just to get one from Tampa Bay. We’re going to get stuck in Selig’s mongoloid WC game. I just hope it’s at the Yard.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:44 AM
I always thought Jenny McCarthy in her prime was better than Carmen.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:44 AM
Geez I can’t type. Gund = Guns. When I saw the lineups yesterday morning I had a terrible feeling, and whenStricker became important I knew we were dead.

come one, Jason. you know the Jets are always relevant at http://www.thebigleadunitedstatesofamericatoday.com.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:50 AM
Cassel has more yards, more TDs and a better QB rating. Granted, one of those games was against the Saints D, but Sanchez had an extra quarter against Miami to add some stats.
Sanchez just looks totally incompetent out there. I feel like Cassel would give me a small chance to win. I’d have zero confidence in Sanchez.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:52 AM
Sanchez is surrounded by garbage. Cassel at least has some weapons.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:53 AM
I said it mostly because I’m biased being a Chiefs fan, but I also don’t feel as if Cassel (or Sanchez) would give me a small chance to win. They both look completely inept.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:53 AM
Sanchez has looked real bad this year. Sadly, he still is head and shoulders above Tebow.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:54 AM
O/U: 2.5
Number of people JMac banhammers before the next Jets game.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:55 AM
i’d be interested to see what is the difference in the offense from his first 2 seasons and what the offense is running now. is it simply the guy hasn’t gotten better at running a more complex offense? if that’s the case, why force feed it to him, so simple if that’s the case.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:55 AM
Time to start watching USC/WVU/Tennessee games every Saturday
/#1 overall pick
October 1st, 2012 at 8:55 AM
Those guys are garbage because he’s the QB who can’t get them the ball. Santonio Holmes isn’t garbage. Shonn Greene was good as recently as last year. This Stephen Hill cat is supposed to be a gamebreaker.
I’m not going to pretend that Sanchez has Carter and Moss to throw to. But that’s not the problem. He can’t deliver the ball.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:55 AM
You and me both, brotha.

October 1st, 2012 at 8:58 AM
he’s all the worst parts of Ryan Fitzpatrick and none of the good parts.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:59 AM
Jets fans always blamed Sanchez’s struggles on Shottenheimer, who they said called an offense that didn’t suit his style. This new guy was supposed to be the savior.
He wasn’t asked to do much in his first two seasons, regressed last year and looks totally inept now. Defenses have learned that once you get him rattled he’s a mess. He doesnt have a lot in the WR department, so why not start Tebow and play to what you have left?
October 1st, 2012 at 8:59 AM
Holmes is good but that is all Sanchez has had this year. Hill and Keller have been injured and Shonn Greene isn’t anything special.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:02 AM
Because Tebow didn’t bring Willis McGahee along with him.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:03 AM
Oh my, this is bad…
Bob Kravitz @bkravitz
Colts coach Chuck Pagano has been diagnosed with a “serious” illness and will miss the next few games, at least. Arians will be interim.

October 1st, 2012 at 9:08 AM
Is Dooley gonna be let go before the season ends?
October 1st, 2012 at 9:09 AM
The thing is without really studying game tape it is hard to know how much is the RB’s fault vs. the offensive line. Maybe the Jets O-line is just really bad at run blocking this year.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:10 AM
Classy gal.
/ Doesn’t care. She can still get it.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:10 AM
That beer politics thing is pretty spot on from my POV.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:11 AM
Career high, that is also an issue. Both lines are mediocre.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:11 AM
seems like that’s the big problem with the jets, they’ve got a lot of #2 and #3 guys in #1 spots… they can’t identify the #1 guys to draft or sign via free agency.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:12 AM

I’ll get drinks for everyone. Someone else make a ton of popcorn
October 1st, 2012 at 9:14 AM
Lost in all of this “what’s wrong with the Jets” chatter is that they got beat by a team that is probably going to the NFC Championship game this year.
Not sure I’d make any major personnel decision after a game like that.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:15 AM
Is Dooley gonna be let go before the season ends?
Key games for him is MS State and Mizzou. Must must wins. Their October schedule has 4 top 25 teams. Not supposed to win those, though it’ll look bad losing so much. I think if they finish with 7 he stays.Really thought they were about to pull it off against UGA. Would’ve be massive win
October 1st, 2012 at 9:16 AM
i have all those beers, guess i’m the abnormality excluded from the mean.
I took it as more of what your “go to” beer was. I love Micro brews and IPA’s and according to that chart, I am more likely to vote and vote democrat.

Johndewar, its not just the most recent game..its the way the team looked against Pittaburgh and Miami as well
October 1st, 2012 at 9:18 AM

no. Tennessee can’t afford to fire him this year. I’m being serious. as much as Dave Hart might want to do it, Tennessee just came off a year where they ran a $4 million athletic department budget deficit. they can’t afford to pay for ANOTHER buyout right now.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:19 AM
that’s the problem, i don’t really have a go to beer anymore. i’ve become a beer snob. so i guess that just makes me an educated elitist so a democrat?
October 1st, 2012 at 9:20 AM
Jets should be calling Ted Thompson about Graham Harrell today
October 1st, 2012 at 9:20 AM
Who would the Jets be better off with for this season? Sanchez, Tebow, or the Eagles surprise third quarterback who was without a job for most of the offseason… Trent Edwards.
I’ll go with C.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:20 AM
Oh, I hear you.
I just think you need to think twice (or three times) about putting Tim Tebow in at this point. I don’t think he’s going to get any more out of this offense that Mark Sanchez is and, in fact, they could get even worse.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:22 AM
On the other hand, I would _really_ enjoy seeing Greg McElroy running that offense.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:22 AM

In my experience, chicks with sleeve tattoos enjoy and actually look forward to sucking cock. Plus, there’s something incredibly sexy about a tatted up chick. Fake tits feel weird.

There was a cop right there who would have seen what she did or didn’t do, yet he stands there and just clears the area? Screw that guy.

yes they are. lets keep the posts on them at a minimum given this fact.

I guess. That cop turned around to find her alone while he’s surrounded by 10 other dude cops. He’s not in danger. He’s annoyed he got sprayed with water. And, assuming by the dress, he’s got some rank so he’s leading by example there. Fuck him.

Sparano should trade for Matt Moore?!
The Jets are 2-2, last time I checked.

You don’t have a session beer? I love trying as many new beers as possible but that can hurt the wallet. I can get a case of Harpoon IPA for $25 after taxes and deposit where I live. A middle of the road IPA for about a $1 a beer is pretty solid.

Any stories about how Gregg Williams gets to go to football games now that he ratted out Vilma in a self-serving affidavit (which directly contradicts Mike Cerullo’s affidavit saying that Williams ran it), but Payton is still the only one still completely banned? I told y’all months ago that this was all about Goodell’s vendetta against Payton.
And by the way, ESPN will be airing the Penn State/Northwestern Saturday. That makes SIX WEEKS IN A ROW that ESPN nationally televises a Penn State game–including games against Ohio, Navy, Temple, and an Illinois team that got blown out at home by LOUISIANA TECH. Keep proftiting from child molestation while simultaneously condemning it in your news division. Stay classy, ESPN.

Classic TBL move. Never talks golf, but doesn’t mind pouring salt in the wound. I guess I’ll take any golf talk over no golf talk. One request, though: please find the ratings for Sunday and compare them to other sporting events (and if you want to break it down against baseball in baseball-first towns, that works too) going on during that time. Thanks!

I used to like to drink Stella Artois, and then one day, in this chatroom, JayV (of considerable influence) said out loud that Stella Artois is terrible beer. And subsequently, every time I drink it, it tastes terrible.
So my wife is always asking if we should get some Stella, and I can’t figure out how to tell her it’s terrible beer, because JayV says it’s terrible beer.

I’m just like this. I need a really skinny razor because my whiskers extend into my nose. So I’m still on Gilette Sensor. They last about a week, although it varies razor blade to razor blade. I still recommend buying a hundred razor blades at once, and then not having to think about it for way more than a year.

A great idea. Some types won’t stay well though. I believe IPAs have a limited shelf life as the hops lose their punch over time. On the other hand, your porters and stouts will do well with some age on them. At least this is what I read on the internets, so it must be true.
October 1st, 2012 at 9:58 AM
Founders Brewing has an IPA intended to be more of a session beer. It’s called All Day IPA. It’s quite good. I don’t really have a session beer. My go to beer is Two Hearted from Bells or Mad Hatter from New Holland.

I’ve been putting beer away for a few years, but its been in a cool/dark closet in the house. Would like to take this to the next level and make something legit. Looking to cellar some barleywines, imperials, and big IPAs. There’s a great beer store in Boone that sells some of their cellar beers, so there are some things I can get from them time to time that i didn’t have to age.
Hop Slam – love the username. AWESOME beer.

If it was more readily available 3 Floyd’s Zombie Dust would be my session beer. It’s basically only available at the brewery though and I don’t live close enough to make regular trips there.

Trent Edwards
Bobby Hoyer
Graham Harrell
who else? no QB is surviving behind that line with those guys at skill positions in that system.

I’d say it’s the first time he’s being faced this kind of adversity, and he’s not handling it well. We’ve seen other college superstars (Vince Young, Matt Leinart) incapable of handling that pressure. Is it possible Cam is in that category?
October 1st, 2012 at 10:04 AM
Cellaring IPAs is a no-no. Those need to be drank as fresh as possible. The hop character/flavor has a finite shelf life.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:06 AM
Better get someone than can run then. Ray Lucas is available
October 1st, 2012 at 10:06 AM
I used to drink it occasionally, for nostalgia sake. When they stopped brewing it in Latrobe, I stopped buying it.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:06 AM
You keep bitching about this, I assume Division II Towsen vs LSU should have been on. They aren’t “profiting from blah blah,” they’re putting PSU on tv because they have ALWAYS put PSU on tv.
And shit, their offense is probably the most fun to watch in the disgusting B1G.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:07 AM
The Chiefs definitely do have talent in the skill positions. The WRs are inconsistent, but you can’t really separate the WR/TE from the performance of the QB. Cassel is a problem.
But yeah, no comparison to the Jets.

When I’m president, anyone who drank Rolling Rock after 2006 will be shot.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:09 AM
Where the hell do you live? Vietnam?
October 1st, 2012 at 10:10 AM
There is a difference between him facing losing for the first time and having faced adversity. What he faced at Auburn is bigger than this contrived adversity he’s facing in the NFL. The scrutiny at Auburn was intense, and he responded week after week. This sulking thing is being way overblown.

You can’t be serious.
Stuff is liquid gold.

This.

Bigger issue is that the coaching staff doesn’t trust him to get a yard.
Inept coaching and an inept organization. He’s only got two more years on the deal and then he’s gone.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:13 AM
He’s pouted on the sidelines for two weeks in a row. He sat in the locker room after the loss yesterday with a towel over his head and the rest of his team on the bus. Atlanta radio 790 reported after the game that Ron Rivera’s press conference was done, he was on the bus, and Cam had yet to even leave the locker room.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:13 AM
But, I was still in HS after 2006, it was one of like 3 options available.
(Also one time at a friend’s house where I thought I grabbed a Mountain Dew can and it was Rolling Rock)
October 1st, 2012 at 10:15 AM
I’m talking BIG IPAs. Not your grocery store variety; i’m talking things like dogfish heads 120 minute IPA; something in that american double and/or imperial IPA style.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:16 AM
Close enough.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:16 AM
What’s contrived about looking like total crap at home and then losing an excruciating game to the best in your division?
October 1st, 2012 at 10:19 AM
So am I. I tried that with some Founders Devil Dancer. It didn’t go over well. Of course, that’s not the best of beers to have in the first place.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:21 AM
also, IMO Two Hearted in nowhere near Bell’s best offering. Try the Hopslam or if you can find it the Black Note. Certainly different from the Two Hearted, but well worth the tasting. Looking to try their Hell Hath No Furry next.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:22 AM
HawkEye – how many bottles are you cellaring right now?
October 1st, 2012 at 10:24 AM
Was able to pick up some 2008 Chimay Grande Reserve (the large one on the right) about 2 years ago. Drank one and have three aging in the bsaement (though no special room). They’re supposed to keep for 10+ years.
Screw Anheuser-Busch for moving it from the “glass lined tanks of old Latrobe.” Haven’t tocuhed it since.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:25 AM
A guy is pissed about losing and doesn’t have/hasn’t learned the ability to hide it from public view, and this is considered adversity?
October 1st, 2012 at 10:26 AM
contrived.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:28 AM
Eli Manning went through this shit in NY before he won a Super Bowl. I assume you’ve all seen the sad Eli gif from last night?
It’s all contrived nonsense until the media decides you’re a “winner”.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:30 AM
I said losing in embarrassing fashion and losing a close game to a good team is considered adversity, not the act of him pouting.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:31 AM
Excellent grab; that should be awesome in a few years.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:35 AM
Depends on what he does with his frustration. If he helps his team get better, then there is nothing to this conversation.
If he allows it to fester and affects his performance or the others around him by throwing dudes under the bus, then yes, it’s a story.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:55 AM
Hopslam is high quality. However, it’s only available in very limited quantities and every liquor store owner I know says it sells out as soon as they get it in. Haven’t had the others mentioned but they aren’t available often either, I don’t think.
October 1st, 2012 at 11:10 AM
Just for the record, this was done by InBev before they Romenyed Anheuser-Busch. A-B bought Rolling Rock from InBev and then a few years later was systemically destroyed by InBev.
October 1st, 2012 at 11:51 AM
Exactly.
October 1st, 2012 at 11:56 AM
It was Busch that moved it though. InBev (their previous incarnation) bought the brand from Labatt in the nineties, they kept it in Latrobe. Busch bought it and immediately moved it to New Jersey.

I’m not going to pretend that Sanchez has Carter and Moss to throw to. But that’s not the problem. He can’t deliver the ball.
The Poise Cannon, ladies and gentlemen!
October 1st, 2012 at 12:08 PM
This is my understanding.
October 1st, 2012 at 12:15 PM
Whether the Belgians changed the brewing process in Latrobe, I do not know, but it was absolutely still a locally brewed beer until AB moved it to Jersey.
October 1st, 2012 at 1:43 PM
I always wished that A-B would have done more to market Rolling Rock. It has been on the back burner ever since the merger. A-B bought Rolling Rock for about 90 million. I wonder how much it is worth now.
October 1st, 2012 at 1:46 PM
rolling rock had some funny commercials. the ones revolving around the 33
remember ‘i’ve read the magna carta. it’s….very confusing’

In my experience, chicks with sleeve tattoos enjoy and actually look forward to sucking cock.
Oh, NDub.
Looks like NDub has been spending a lot of time peeling the labels off his beer bottles lately.
