Fair enough — this is true.

I was in Baltimore about a month ago. One of the weirdest nights I’ve had in awhile. Walked about of Larry Flynt’s after losing my friends and was the only white dude till my hotel. I stopped and asked a cop for directions and he said “You have a smart phone, you figure it out.” I went into the 7-11 to get my bearings, saw some dudes throw rocks through the windows then paid a cabbie $5 to give me directions to the Hampton Inn.

Without watching that video I know the REAL answer is “because they’re bitter.”

You don’t have to be bitter to hate that video. Just awful stuff. She uploaded to youtube prior to making it private after the vitriol. If you voluntarily crave attention, you deserve to be mocked for it.

You ever been to Baltimore, let alone a ghetto in Baltimore? If you aren’t around the Inner Harbor or Fell’s Point after dark, take a cab to where ever you are going. You will get robbed.

/asked two cops for directions to walk once, this is what they told me.

One of my favorite scenes in the Wire was when one guy that was guarding a stash (that Omar eventually hit sitting in a wheel chair, I think) was talking about how people were asking where the (Edgar Allan) Poe house was.

The kid responds “Poe house? Look around you, every house ’round here is a po’ house.”

That scene made me chuckle because I actually drove to that neighborhood where the Edgar Allan Poe house is in Baltimore, and let’s just say I didn’t stop at any stop signs once I saw how bad that neighborhood was.

Chuck Klosterman raised an important point on simmons’ podcast once.

Speaking of white people, please give this video a glance. Hang with it for all 4 minutes. Trust me, it’s worth it. Lines like “Macchiato in the hood”, “kittens exploding out of my head” and other gems. She thanks her cat and future husband with this line, “Hats off to our beautiful cat Balka…and of course my amazing husband Todd whose love inspired this video!!! Everything’s okay-o when I’m with Tadeo.”

Privileged white people are the absolute worst.

That season of the Wire was bad anyways. The McNulty serial killer thing was the worst storyline in the show. Which is to say it was really the only bad one.

It wasnt bad. It was the weakest of The Wire seasons but it was a far cry from bad.

But when they did the newspaper season, Klosterman, having been in a newspaper for a while, thought the dialogues were hammy and very unrealistic. Even by tv standards.

If Klosterman thought that newsroom dialog was hammy, perhaps he’d like to revise that after watching Aaron Sorkin’s “Newsroom”.

No way to know since most of Wire fans are liberal whites who’ve never been to the ghetto.
