When you’re a ballboy, your only job is to protect balls. The specifics change based on the sport, but the general rule is that you either get balls on or off of the field of play as needed. Get them from the stands or throw them into the stands. You’re in charge of the balls. So when a booming kickoff goes through the end zone and it is bouncing into the stands, you have to sacrifice your body. That’s what this poor kid did and he ate it over some padding.
