Ryder Cup Collapse: USA Loses Cup to Europe
Team USA came into Sunday’s singles matches needing only to win 4 matches and half another. They couldn’t do it.
Furyk and Mickelson were both one up with two holes to play. Both lost their matches.
By the time Jason Dufner held on to win his match, the USA was still staring at a 13-13 scoreboard with only two players left: Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods. Stricker and Woods were playing partners and the only team to not gain a point during the first two days.
Tiger Woods didn’t even matter. Stricker missed a putt on #17 to be able to halve the hole. He was in the fairway on #18 while Martin Kaymer was in the bunker, but it didn’t matter. He hit long, then hit a dreadful 40 foot punt that didn’t even have a chance. His 8 foot par putt went in, but Kaymer stepped up and made his as well.
It set up for improbable drama with Woods closing the match when the USA entered with a huge lead. In the end, It didn’t even get there. Europe would retain the cup regardless of whether it was 14-14 or 14.5-13.5. Tiger’s friend and playing partner, Steve Stricker, finished 0 for 4, and his putting let him down all week.

Illegal crackback? Sorry, watching Green Bay implode right now.

No idea, I’ve never heard of that being called before. At least you’re watching something.

Cheers to Caribu and the rest of you beleaguered Miami fans (Meth?), Javorski Lane is a modern American story, the only thing missing is a close up of the insulin shot wounds, earnestly I cheer for that guy. Loved watching him truck fools at A&M.

Jorvorski? Fuck these names.

So I’m guessing the excitement for the US team of having the “greatest of all time” on their team wore off early in the week.

packers saints turning into a good game.
they remembered to bring back the real refs for this game, right?

Lots of real Hate on the field. Reminds me of the old Chiefs/Raiders games.

Did arizona game just end in a tie???
September 30th, 2012 at 7:35 PM
Never mind. I cant read.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:35 PM
WIDE LEFT! Haha saints!
September 30th, 2012 at 7:35 PM
no, but despite the turnovers they way the arizona defense didn’t shut down miami is a little worrisome.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:36 PM
Dont worry. Arizona will shut down buffalo in two weeks. I am already weeping
September 30th, 2012 at 7:36 PM
I almost had a heart attack watching the Cardinals let a rookie QB look like Dan Marino.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:38 PM
Haha. I see you decided to show up now that they won. I had the crow plucked and ready for you, but then I said wait, this is the fucking dolphins we’re talking about here, the team that gives up 15-0 leads in the last 2 minutes of the game.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:38 PM
A LOT worrisome. I’m hoping it was one of 2 things (or a combo of both):
1. Getting cocky and letting the Dolphins sneak up on them
2. Selling out to stop the run and letting the passing game shred them
My vote is a combo of the two.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:39 PM
who knows, maybe the “good” Fitzpatrick shows up…

Tannehill’s done pretty good with passing, yards wise. Fucker just can’t seem to hardly throw any touchdowns.

I was coming either way to gloat or to eat crow. Dolphins played better today, Cards got a lucky win.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:42 PM
Tannehill looked good. Cards didn’t get enough pressure on him. When they pressured him he looked like a rookie
September 30th, 2012 at 7:43 PM
towards the end when Bush stayed right at the front of the line for extra protection was a good move, however, if other teams employ that in the coming weeks you’d hope they adjust and change the blitz to a zone to bait the QB.
/ nice, Rexy is talking about his recipe for getting his ass kicked.

Tannehill - I like the guy. I think he’s gonna be alright considering what he’s doing now with the minor leaguers that surround him.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:46 PM
I’m just happy they escaped with a win. STL in 4 days. Meth, keep me updated about fishing next week. I’m going to go drink some more.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:48 PM
Sounds like the Miami version of “same old Cardinals”
/same old Cardinals almost showed up today
September 30th, 2012 at 7:51 PM
Just walked home from neighbor’s house. Brutal fucking loss. It’s weird. I didn’t expect the Saints would be in it in the fourth. So they roped me into thinking they had it and then….well, you fucking saw it.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:53 PM
Cundiff from way downtown…bang!
September 30th, 2012 at 7:56 PM
fucking packer fans. they got their real refs back and they still boo like little bitches. damn i wish the saints would have pulled that one out.
September 30th, 2012 at 8:04 PM
damn i wish the saints would have pulled that one out.
Saints were on the 1 yard line earlier and couldn’t punch that shit in. THAT is a problem. I’m keeping from blaming anything else BUT the Saints incompetence here.

OT: Watching a Heart concert from earlier this year. Title track from the new CD, “Fanatic”. Sounds some kinda heavy.
Saw Ann & Nancy on TMS last night. Nancy looks great as always. Ann has lost some weight.

Golf talk always appears in non golf posts. Come here to talk Ryder Cup and there’s some sort of Dolphins conversation taking place.
