Michael Morse Hits Grand Slam With Invisible Bat [Video]
Nationals outfielder Michael Morse experienced one of the most bizarre at-bats you’ll ever see during the first inning of Saturday night’s game against the Cardinals.
After hitting a fly ball off the right field wall, Carlos Beltran fielded it as though it were still live and threw it the Skip Schumaker, who tagged Morse. However, since the back wall is out of play, the umps went to their secret replay hut to take another look and determined it was in fact a home run.
That’s a wonderful thing, because it meant Morse would then run the bases backwards, return to the batter’s box, reenact the grand slam by swinging an invisible bat, and then — finally — do a traditional home trot by touching all the bases in their proper order.
One of the Nationals announcers found himself extremely amused by the moment, stating it was the greatest thing he had ever seen in his life.

I agree with F.P. When Morse went back to home plate for the re-do, he shoulda called his shot a la Babe Ruth.
Magic number is 1.

Most childish thing I’ve ever seen in professional sports.
