Gina Carano is a big movie star now. While Haywire bombed at the box office, it was a decent enough action movie. (It’s streaming on Netflix) Next up she’ll be in Fast 6 and after that, she’s been pegged (*suggestive elbow to the ribs*) for a new action movie that is described as an “all-female riff on The Expendables.”

Here’s what producer Adi Shankar had to say about Carano’s involvement. Via Variety:

“I don’t know how I’m supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of ‘The Expendables’ without Gina Carano in it. It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba.”

Yes. Gina Carano who has officially been in two movies at this point in her acting career is basically the jamba of juice of lady action movies or something. I’m sorry, I’m not entirely sure what a jamba is.

It’s nice to think that she’s the new top female action star, but you have to wonder who this dude thinks will be the juice or cookie crunch of this movie. Angelina Jolie, Kate Beckinsale and Mila Jovovich? I have to tell you, that doesn’t sound like something that would happen. Either way, hopefully, this movie is more Expendables II-inspired than Expendables-inspired because Expendables II was freaking awesome.
