Ed Hochuli, aka Eddie Guns, aka the most famous and beloved official in the NFL (all of sports?), has chimed in on the Screw Job in Seattle. A reader claims* to have emailed Hochuli this morning about the debacle, and Hochuli (allegedly) responded in a way you might expect. The reader, Ryan, forwarded us (Pro Football Talk was CC’d in an email at 11:21 am this morning, as well) this exchange:

If you would have flown into Seattle in Iron Man armor and reversed the call in the greatest cross promotion ever conceived last night I wouldn’t have been surprised.

Hochuli, whose email has been public for years, seems to relish in banter among fans, which is why they love him. But seriously, can he get to the Jets/49ers game Sunday? Two (often) ugly offenses, two hard-hitting, angry defenses … at least 25 penalties.
