Floyd Mayweather & Manny Pacquiao: Pacman Has Agreed to a 55-45 Split, But Will Mayweather Fight Him?
Manny Pacquiao announced yesterday to multiple outlets that he would agree to the 55-45 purse split that Floyd Mayweather has demanded. Pacquiao’s agreement to an uneven split, along with an agreement to submit to stricter drug testing, were always the final hurdles to clear before Pacquiao – Mayweather actually happened. Why do I feel like this is just the latest and greatest tease? Via Yahoo!:
Since he was paroled on Aug. 3, Mayweather has kept a low-profile and rarely spoken to the media.
His manager, Leonard Ellerbe, told Yahoo! Sports that he has not spoken “one word about boxing with him,” and that he wasn’t sure if or when he would.
Based on those two simple sentences from our buddy Kevin Iole, and a few other details, I’m confident in declaring that Floyd Mayweather is not close to committing to a fight with Manny Pacquiao. We know Mayweather isn’t above getting out in public and mixing it up with some randoms – he was involved in an incident last week where the cops were called.
Mayweather, who is fresh out of jail (it was an abbreviated stay), recently lost his business partner and best bro as he and 50 Cent allegedly have parted ways with Fitty in talks to join promotional forces with Pacquiao. Is Justin Beiber still in Floyd’s corner? Only time will tell.
As for Pacquiao, he is coming off (an admittedly bullshit robbery of) a loss to Timothy Bradley. Pacquiao has to defeat Juan Manuel Marquez on December 8th. Despite being 2-0-1 against Marquez in their previous three fights, he has never knocked him out and those fights could have gone in Marquez’s favor with different judges. Less than a knockout for Pacman is another chance for Mayweather to discredit the only man we want to see him fight.
So … maybe December 2013?

I hate Mayweather like the plague, but Pacquiao hasn’t ever really held up his end. 45/55 is just to keep his name out there because Pacquiao/Marquez IV The Sleepening is going to be boring to hype. Gotta keep the Mayweather angle in the promotions.

the reason you are supposed to hate green day is due the fact that they are one of the shittiest, disgusting, smegma eating joke of a band that only came back into the spotlight because they ” couragously” took a stand against president bush. their music is beyond terrible, and has not changed since 1994. die, you sacks of shit.

I am waiting for October 2nd when the new Muse album comes out. On that day, I will make a comment about Muse and how they drew influence from Queen. Then, I will wait for sportsgal to pop in, not read what I actually said, and go on a rant about how Muse is not better than Queen.

you have to wait for mole and spencer to pass out before mentioning that band. you are pavlov and they are the dogs
September 21st, 2012 at 4:18 PM
it was inconsistent, i grant you that. had some good songs but the concept was flawed. I am hoping the new one is solid from start to finish. Hell of a live performance though
September 21st, 2012 at 4:18 PM
no, aside from “resistance” the rest of the album was nothing more than conceptual crap.
and my expectations are very low for this one. I blame Kate Hudson.

yeah, that’s my thinking about it, too. it was ambitious, no doubt about that, but ultimately i think it lacked the cohesion most other concept albums have. i think they also took the definition of a concept album far too literally in structure.

Arkbadger will fight you.
the number of country musicians i like i can count on 3 fingers.
September 21st, 2012 at 4:24 PM
Country music can be okay, but not really Nashville country. I actually like it in small doses, and the more folk-y styles. There’s a big difference between hearing Carrie Underwood or the ugly teenage girl who keeps writing the same whiny song 10 different ways, and walking down the street with live bands playing in every bar. I’m actually looking forward to a weekend trip to Austin to drink/golf/listen to music.

I truly hate that song. I also loathe the Indigo Girls.
September 21st, 2012 at 4:29 PM
I’m not defending them, I never said it was GOOD music, but I don’t think they took themselves seriously at that point in terms of lyrics or performance but they sure as shit weren’t plugging in ballads and orchestral accompaniment at that point.
September 21st, 2012 at 4:29 PM
…. man your fears are WAY off base then. Who doesn’t like most of that?
No idea. I think my ‘fears’ are more about the fact that I don’t keep track of new, emerging bands and am incredibly bereft of knowledge on other bands that seem to have been around awhile but whom I’ve ever heard of.
For example I have no idea who or what Muse is.

I guess I should say I don’t think they’ve changed as musicians at all, they weren’t talented then and they are not talented now, I just think what they put out sounded a lot different then.
That music had a place in the early nineties.
The shit they’re putting out now has no place anytime.

This is where I am with them as well. I like about 4-5 songs, but the rest of their last album sounds the same.
Have you heard much Eli Young band when they were in TX? They’ve since moved to Nashville, but I like their TX stuff okay, for country.
Yeah I saw them at Palladium Ballroom here about four years ago. It was a really cold, icy night in February and the place wasn’t very full. But there was some shitfaced hicks who started throwing bottles at the stage. A huge black bouncer came up to them and tackled one of them and dragged the others out while they yelled shit at the top of their lungs.

I really am not trying to talk shit on Muse, I thought they actually did a pretty good job of ripping off Radiohead compared to lots of other bands of that time.

Pink Floyd first and foremost
Van Halen

Syd Barrett Pink Floyd or Roger Waters Pink Floyd?

there’s not many artists out there that can really put on a show with only songs and lights that top elaborate performances of lesser musicians, who use crazy staging to make up for what they are lacking in song and energy. (pink floyd’s the wall excluded)
