Boss spills something – peon rushes in to get the boss a new computer, not just new keyboard.

Worker bee spills something – “what were you thinking? This’ll reflect in your next performance report!”

Guess the bottom line is either be the boss or be that ultra-valuable worker whose butt everyone else kisses. I’ve never been either.

I completely understand the blocking of 95% of everything. Keeps the work servers safe and all that, but the thing that escapes me, and actually kind of makes me mad, is about the drinks.
We’re allowed to have a cup from a fast food joint. If that thing falls, that lid is going to fall off with it. Drink will pour out instantly and completely. A top on a can is barely the size of a nickel. And, my boss will have a bottle of something with the lid off and a straw in it. How the fuck is that OK?

About downloads at work, yeah I can dig it. We went thru the same. They were concerned that while we downloaded stuff, bad guys could use those portals to hack into our stuff. Stinks, but I understand.

From what I’ve heard somebody that worked here years ago before I did ruined more than one keyboard spilling cans of soda at her desk, and because of that they had no choice but to turn into the Soda Can Waffen SS. Since they can’t be mean and single out the dipshit that can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.

Also the reason they block so much shit on the internet is because (once again, so I’ve been told) they kept catching people hooking their IPOD’s and shit up to the computers and downloading music and movies while on the clock.

And I’ve got a delicious canned beverage in the fridge that’s been calling my name since 5:00 when all the people that matter are usually gone.

Grocery-wise I shop almost exclusively at Wal-Mart, there’s not much else to choose from.

I pay Time Warner $150 a month to not have the ability to watch this game. I’m assuming they had something to do with it.

Even if I agreed with you —and I don’t—, Jason, I still don’t know why Clown would use that response. While there was certainly overwhelming support for a playoff on the internet, if you think the same support to pay the players exists, you are mistaken.

More likely there’s no college football by 2020 than players getting paid anything other than image and likeness rights.

That, and a “full cost” scholarship would be a decent amount…for the handful of stars.

In the current issue of Fortune, there is an article on Nick Saban. Last year, ‘Bama’s football revenue was $124.5M – before the playoff. Football expenditures for the same period were $105.1M.

That scholarship to that 3rd string DB better translate to something. How many administrators does ‘Bama really need?

That would have meant a South Carolina/Clemson rematch in the Orange Bowl—there is a ZERO percent chance that would have happened.
