Vernon Wells, the grossly overpaid Anaheim outfielder, was chasing a home run ball into the corner Tuesday when he ran out of real estate in the outfield. As you can see in this GIF, he’s running full speed, feels the warning track, and prepares to leap to make the catch – he’s got no chance – but runs out of room. His reaction, mid-air, is one of, “holy shit, I’m screwed.” Then Wells proceeds to tumble over the wall, head first.

He was OK.
