Reds’ Postgame Interview Devolves into Chris Welsh Jokingly Asking Jim Day if He Wants to Come Out of the Closet
Brandon Phillips of the Reds is a funny guy, and as you can see in the video, he ribbed Fox Sports Ohio reporter Jim Day for saying, “you looked good out there.”
Said Phillips: “You got a man crush, it’s OK.” Later, around the 1 minute mark, Phillips said, “you got a man crush on somebody. You might not like chocolate, that’s what it is, I understand!” Ha! Funny!
Where it got awkward was later, when former pitcher Jim Welsh, a Reds announcer, reignited the man crush banter: “I want to know more about the man crush,” he asks at the 1:45 mark. “You got something to say? A little late night out here in Arizona? This might be the time … ”
Jim Day is married, and pointed at his wedding ring.
Really guys? On the heels of Yunel Escobar? [UPDATE: The reader who sent this in said the postgame moment is from August 28th, so Escobar's eye-black wasn't yet a story.] Surely you’ve got better material, no? [video via Bo]

I’m alright. Had an ECT appointment this morning and it was pretty rough, but starting to feel a little better now. Have 2 or 3 more.

the goal is to help you function or just feel more positive?

but who knows
Nothing like the sounds of encouragement. Just kidding man. I’m thinking about throwing them in on one of my cards for this week.

Minimum is just to feel more positive, ideally would like to be able to function better.

I think you meant to say, “Really Yunel? On the heels of Chris Welsh three weeks ago? Surely you’ve got better material, no?”.

It seems like these guys were trying to promote themselves. People love steamy news.

As much as I love JM, this article is both anachronistic (as noted above) and just wasteful, hyper-criticism. If we can’t joke about this occasionally then this culture has become way, way too sensitive. The PCP has turned us into a bunch of drama queens.
