USA Beats Jamaica 1-0 in World Cup Qualifying
Herculez scored on a free kick in the second half, giving the U.S. a vital 1-0 home qualifying win against Jamaica. The small margin masked what was a comprehensively improved performance from the Americans, who dominated the first half and hit the woodwork three times. Credit to Jurgen Klinsmann who made five lineup changes from the team that faced Jamaica last week.
German-born Danny Williams had his best game in a U.S. shirt, starting in the middle instead of on the right. His work rate was excellent. He had great technique in linkup play. He also let loose a masterful rip on goal. Sporting Kansas City midfielder Graham Zusi also stepped forward on his debut, with an excellent performance. Neither was “Latin” though both provided the refreshing brand of play expected when Klinsmann was hired. The only downside was the partnership up front with Gomez and Dempsey, mostly because Clint Dempsey was not fit.
Don’t look now but the U.S. got a solid result, backed by a convincing effort in an important competitive match. The U.S., Jamaica and Guatemala are tied on seven points after four matches.

Awesome atmosphere in the best place the USMNT can play. Great stadium. Great crowd. No Jamaicans…
US misses Bradley and Donovan, but they played very, very well tonight. Could have easily been 4-0.
Williams and Zusi are the future at midfield. They will likely both have spots in 2014 in Brazil. Not necessarily starting, but there and ready to play…
Oh, and personally, I had a blast tonight! My hometown comes through with another clutch performance to help the USMNT!

Yep. That was about 3 weeks ago. Absolutely badass concert. Played about 4 new songs along with most of all the original album ones. Really, truly incredible show. 10,000 people in a parking lot, festival style.
