Billy Gillispie Checking into the Mayo Clinic for Stress and High Blood Pressure
Billy Gillispie signed a 5-year deal with Texas Tech last March. Today it was announced that Gillispie will be checking himself into the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for stress and blood pressure. It’s been an interesting couple weeks for Gillispie.
It was recently revealed that players met with the compliance officers to complain about Gillispie. On the day Gillispie was supposed to meet with AD Kirby Hocutt, Gillispie went to the hospital. Hocutt later announced that Gillispie was done making day-to-day decisions about the basketball program so he could focus on his health. On Monday night, Gillispie called an ambulance again.

You need to go to the Mayo Clinic? Just go to the doctor in Lubbock and get a prescription for Lisinopril.

As a person, I hate to see him in this condition.
As a UK fan and someone who follows Tech sports, I wish Tech’s AD would have called me before hiring him. This is happening EXACTLY the same way it did at UK……….all the way down to the point where he isn’t available to be fired when he knows it is coming. I just hope Tech made him sign his employment contract before he started coaching. UK kept negotiating with him (2 years after signing the MOA) and he ended up walking with millions, even after they fired him.
