The first time I went into Cameron it was empty and I couldn’t believe how small it was, like a high school gym.

Yeah that’s how I always describe it to people. You just walk in, there’s a standard HS gym foyer with two Papa Johns stands, then twenty feet past the outside doors are the doors onto the floor. Ridiculously tiny, but very cool.

Is there anyone outside of McTiblle and Hornets fans that want to see Rivers succeed? I mean that’s like, fifteen sixteen people, tops. I don’t know a single Duke fan who likes him.

He is just an insufferable, spoiled brat. If the kid can ball, great for him. However, I don’t see him making it in the league at a high level.

Now, if we are talking favorite Duke players, I can get behind Kyrie. The kid has game, and since he never beat UNC I can like him even more. Just seems like the kinda kid UNC would have loved to have for a year or two.

I much prefer the uncomfortable sweatboxes in terms of atmosphere and homecourt advantage. As an NC State grad, the worst thing to ever happen to the bball team (other than debilitating sanctions for players selling shoes and tickets), was moving from cramped Reynolds Coliseum to the lush, too-comfortable PNC Arena.

I had never been to any NCSU venues until I was in NC for game four of the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals and saw the Penguins buttfuck the Canes at a seventy percent filled stadium.

That grouping of stadiums in the middle of nowhere with one shitty chain sports bar across the street is just ….. awful.

Having to sit in there for a graduation (after they redid the seats) and having been to Cameron, I’d probably more enjoy a game at the Dean Dome as it’s not a painfully uncomfortable sweatbox.

I know the actual scandal was covered, but it seemed once the NCAA said everything was gravy people backed off. Could be wrong on that, but it seems they like to circle when the facts are convenient (UNC, Syracuse, dead cameramen) but once it becomes something they shouldn’t bring up anymore because they’re going against the NCAA it just slows down.

This thing is far from over. There is still plenty of UNC stuff coming out in the next few months. Butch Davis phone records, the internal investigation, etc etc.

Lets stop with that narrative as well. That place can be really loud when it wants to be. Problem is, thats only for about 30% of home games. Moreover, the Dean Dome was designed to actually have concert level acoustics and a lot of the chairs have sound dampening material. There havent been a lot of concerts there recently, but it was designed as a multipurpose building and they tried to make the acoustics enjoyable to concert goers.
