Mario Williams Was a Non-Factor Against the Jets, So He Cried About Being Blocked Illegally
Mario Williams, the $96 million free agent Buffalo signed in the offseason to bolster its pass rush, was a massive non-factor against the Jets in the season opener. Buffalo lost, 48-28, and didn’t sack Mark Sanchez once. The Bills barely pressured him at all. New York’s much-maligned offensive line, perhaps the greatest weakness coming into the season, kept Sanchez clean.
Williams might have been mentioned twice by announcer Marv Albert – once early during player introductions; then, later, when they were putting out an APB for him. Williams had one tackle, then explained himself to the media:
“You tell somebody from the very beginning of the game,” he said in the locker room, referring to the replacement officials, led by referee Robert Frazer. ”And it happens. One time, that’s on me. But when it’s multiple times and I tell you and you honestly act like you don’t even hear me throughout the whole game, I think that’s a real big problem.
“It’s not something that’s really going to dictate something, but what are you going to do about it? You’re getting off the ball and getting punched in the face, literally, not an accident, just about every other time. That’s a penalty. Unless they changed it with the new CBA or something, but last time I checked it was a penalty.”
“Pass blocking doesn’t include hands to the face. When someone tells the officials that, and they just walk away, or they don’t call it, that is disheartening.”
That’s weak, Mario. Take your beating like a man. And try to put a scare in Matt Cassel next week. [Buffalo News]

As someone who has watched James Harrison for years, no, no it is not.

How many Jets posts today?
And try to put a scare in Matt Cassel next week
Cassel is scared of his shadow.

I love when players are positioned as whiners for making legitimate points about blatant rules violations. I’m no Bills fan and allowing 48 points to a horrible Jets offense is the result of way more than illegal blocking. But he’s not wrong.

Late yesterday, when the game was getting away from the Chiefs, he saw the defender jump to try to knock down his pass, so he did a pump fake and then threw the ball at defender’s feet. The ball didn’t slip out or anything. He took aim, and then fired a ball at defender’s feet. The crowd really let him hear it at that point.
Matt Cassel belongs in Tony Romo hall of fame. He can imitate the ol’ dongslinger and fire off touchdowns like they are going out of style. He makes you think like he has finally taken the leap. And then he takes aim and throws the ball at opponent’s feet.

It looked like a design screen that was blown up and he didn’t bother trying to salvage the play. I laughed out loud. Pure chicken shitedness on his part.

Williams better get used to this, too, because every coach in the league is telling his players to push the envelope as much as they can early with the replacement refs on the field.

The Texans defense got appreciably better after he was injured last season. They are completely fine without him.

Bills Fans need to get used to Mario disappearing for games at a time. He gets his sacks in bunches. There is no way he deserved $96 million.

Shouldn’t it just be a “performance”?
