In fact, they’d say they’re the most Texas place in the world and take every chance to relish reminding Houston that they ain’t shit.

Texas is a little bit of everything. East Texas is like the South. North Texas around the panhandle is more like the midwest. West Texas is like the Southwest (Arizona and New Mexico), the Rio Grande Valley is basically Mexico. I’d say that Central Texas, specifically the Hill Country-Austin area is the most uniquely ‘Texas’ area.
