Andy Murray Won the US Open in Five Incredible Sets, Capturing His First Grand Slam Title
Andy Murray, finally has a Grand Sam title. The 4th time was a charm.
Murray, the 25-year old Scot, defeated Novak Djokovic 7-6, 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2 to win the US Open. At four hours and 54 minutes, it was the longest match in US Open history.
Djokovic rallied from two sets down, but cramped up in the final set, and wasn’t moving well during the final few games. Murray simply overpowered him.
This caps a wild 2012 year in tennis. Novak Djokovic owned 2011, but four different players won majors in 2012:
Australian Open – Djokovic
French Open – Rafael Nadal
Wimbledon – Roger Federer
US Open – Andy Murray.

First set took 90 minutes. 7-6 (12-10) Murray. That was insane by itself

Hard fought match by Murray to win his first grand slam title. Hopefully there’s more grand slams to come.
