Oakland A’s pitcher Brandon McCarthy left the game early yesterday after getting beaned by an Erick Aybar line drive. McCarthy was able to walk off the field. From the Los Angeles Times:

McCarthy never lost consciousness but was taken to Summit Hospital in Oakland for tests, including a CT scan. His prognosis as of Wednesday afternoon looked good, but he was to spend the night at the hospital for observation.

There has been no update on his condition. The A’s are currently tied for the top Wild Card spot.
