Jeremy Lin Played Pick-up Basketball in Taiwan with David Lee
Jeremy Lin spent a month in Taiwan this summer, and while he was there, CBS News cameras followed him around for a 60 Minutes profile. While Lin was in Taipei, he and another former Knick, David Lee, decided to “sneak” out of their hotel go play some pick-up basketball with the locals.
Sneak is in quotes because … well, once the dialogue began and the swoosh began making multiple appearances, the video had the feel of a viral marketing attempt, kind of like Kyrie Irving in May (that’s the gold standard, which many will attempt to duplicate in the coming years). Or maybe I’m just being too cynical.

No, never…I kid I kid. They need to do more of this but in a more real way. Film what you got and don’t spice it up with obvious “fake” material.

The Asian Flip Murray is pretty popular.

In all seriousness, there was actually a period of time when you debated whether or not this was staged?

JT – the guy who shot the video sent it to me last night. He says after they get in the car to go play, it is not at all staged, 100% real.

Hmm, not sure if I’m buying that but yes it does seem vastly different pre-car and post-car scene.

I’m reminded of this exchange:
Carla Jean Moss: Sheriff, was that a true story about Charlie Walser?
Ed Tom Bell: Who’s Charlie Walser? Oh! Well… uh… a true story? I couldn’t swear to every detail but it’s certainly true that it is a story.

100% fake sneak out.
