Andy Roddick: Tennis Career Over After US Open Loss to Del Potro

Andy Roddick, the face of men’s American tennis for the last decade, has played the final match of his storied career. Roddick lost to Juan Martin Del Potro in the US Open Round of 16, 6-7, 7-6, 6-2, 6-4, and as he stated last week, he’s retiring.
Roddick, 30, won the US Open in 2003, and reached four other Grand Slam finals, but lost all of them to Roger Federer. Knownfor a booming serve that often reached 145 miles per hour during his prime, Roddick is the last American male to win a Grand Slam singles event. Roddick’s finished his career with 612 career match wins.
Brooklyn Decker, his gorgeous wife, fought back tears for the final 45 minutes of the match.

45 minutes seems like an awful long time to be “fighting” tears. Let it out honey.

Eh it’s a tennis post without any snark (except maybe calling his career storied). I never really liked Roddick but it’s something of a shame he doesn’t have more to show for his career.

Romo’s kid can hold on to his bottle at four months old. I’m thinking the mailman is the real dad.
